The Shield- Season 3

Awsome. The Strike Team try to be legit and something comes along that makes them get dirty again.

The Money: Marked bills. I didn’t really see that coming. And with everyone being turned against Vic (Dutch told to keep Vic out of the loop, Danny being brought in to spy and now it looks like Wyns is going to be put in charge of the Strike Team) it only looks to get more intense.

I was also shocked that Julian broke the guys arm, but it is about time he stood up for himself.

I really hope Danny is not made into an unsympathetic character.

With the new undercover team being brough in next week, it looks like there is gonna be a lot of tension (and maybe Vic will find a way to turn things around to make the new guys look like the bad guys instead of his guys - maybe using Tavon - "I got plans for you."Wink

And I still really like Tavon. He is not one of the core 4 but he is still a good character.

And I never expected Azceveda to stick around in the Barn.

Good start to the season, and the problem with this is I can’t wacth the next episode till next week (unlike the DVDs, which I flew through in under three days.)

Wow, Shane is outShaning himself now.

I don’t see a very good future for him. Granted, it looked the same in season 2, but it looks like his racism and anger at Vic are going to really bring him down.

Don’t see a good future for everyones favorite hick with a badge.

Very well done setup episode, and Lundgren joke was great.

Very interesting…it was a very understated episode, which was not what i was expecting. But i can honestly say, the threads for Vic’s destruction are numerous and getting more noticeable. it looks like things are going to get very precarious for Vic, and one false move could set of “Gilroy-esque” chain of events.

I was thinking right after this episode, that Vic really is not much different from Gilroy. Maybe I missed out on that parallel in the first two seasons, but it’s becoming readily apparent now that Vic is just as bad as Gilroy ever was.

Another great thing about the episode was the continuity…wow, I had to think hard to remember some of the plot lines like the “jesus” look alike.

Either way, this season looks like it is going to kick some major ass.

When you’re good, you’re good, and in my case i’m the best. I called last season during the whole money train thing that Jesus would come back to haunt those guys, and BOOM, its Delicious Feet time. I can already predict that Corrine is going to fall for Mathew’s teacher, and Vic is gonna get PISSED that this guy is getting all the attention from his son. Anybody know how long after season 2 this takes place? Assuming Acevada won the election, its been quite some time. Here’s to next week, cant wait to see Tavon square off against Shane.

Azceveda still has 6 months to take office. Figure out how long after an election that a person takes office and you will know how long the actual passed time has been.

And it looks like Vic is gonna have trouble because of his team (mainly Shane) and not really because of anything he does.

The new undercover team is what is really gonna throw a wrench into the mixture.

And who bets that Shane goes for the marked money first (I don’t think Vic is gonna use it even though he loaded up at the end of the episode)

I think when Vic loaded up at the end it was to show that he was either moving it to another location (they talked about doing it earlier in the episode) or take out $100k so that he can go through with the sting for the guns (don’t think this is the case though).

I think the show picked up very shortly after the season finale. I seem to remember in the season finale, Vic making a comment that Azceveda had 6 months before he became the captain’s boss.

Excellent episode! Loved the twist with the money being marked. As to who uses the money first? I agree with you Starving Dog. Shane with a shadow of a doubt.

Going to be a great season. Can’t wait for next week

I’m pretty sure he was getting the money for the sting. When they were putting the money there earlier, they had just moved it. The old guy gave Shane the new keys and shit. I can see Vic doing it for the sting because he didn’t want shit like that drive by to happen. Vic wants to keep the gang violence like that down, and if he took care of the guns during the sting, he’d have less of a problem. That’s what I got, anyway.

On one of the trailers there was a few audio clips that talked about this. You heard somebody say (I thought it was Vic, but im probably wrong) “Do you think he took the money?” and then another voice go “Money does strange things to people…”

what Lundgren joke?

the episode was ok, nothing special. I love when they try to appear all street by putting some gangsta rapper in there, same guy from last season.

judging from the previews, they’re really going OTT with Cletus’ racism (it’s more fun calling him Cletus)

All I have to say Disciple is…Dont mess with Sticky Fingaz. He’ll come after you and bring a world of pain.

yes, I’m sure he will.

seriously, what Lundgren joke? this is gonna bug me.

Didn’t the old man call Shane “Mr. Lundgren” at the storage facility? Maybe I heard it wrong, I’ve got it taped I’ll check.

I think they threw that in to get her off Vic, give her a new target.

I have got to disagree with you there. Vic is a lot different than Gilroy. Remember how Gilroy purposely let crime increase in a neighborhood so that the property prices could go down? Vic throughout the series has always tried to keep innocents safe. He might be hard on criminals, or on those that are going to attack him, but he doesn’t have a record of harming civilians. But I do have to agree with you on the love for the episode.

Exactly. It seems ripping off the mob has caused mobsters to get killed and not civilians.

Though I wouldn’t put it past the writers to throw that out as a twist, make Vic feel guilty when the Armenians cause some collateral damage.

Whereas Girloy was indirectly letting civilains die on a fairly large level to profit.

I don’t know. Being from a southern state, that type of racism is not over the top but par for course to some people. I think it is natural for Shane because he has always proven to be a racist from season 1

I only remember a few hints of racism here and there, but you’re probably right. If he uses words like “darkie” in future episodes, I’m not going to feel any sympathy for his character ever again.

And I didn’t catch that Lundgren gag, but that’s some classic. Makes perfect sense, since Vic told him to give a different (non-Van Damme) name to the old strorage place guy.

I’ve maintained from day 1 that shane is a scumbag. Unlike Vic, shane cares only for himself. This is also what makes him entertaining as hell to watch.

I’m sure that will pop up sooner or later.

Did anyone else find the scene where Julian confronted his attacker do be insanely dark and creepy? I have no idea where they’re going to go with his character at this point.
