But as much as I love The Shield, it’s gonna be a discredit to 24’s power to watch it directly after. 24, you just have to recover from that… wink

Yes, I’m curious to see how much of a hardass Vic is after the S1 finale…

I’m watching some of the marathon this week again as a refresher. I think there are still a couple I haven’t seen.

Really buzzed about this one. Chiklis is going to be better than ever now that he knows his efforts are being recognized, same with the rest of the actors.

and if anyone missed it, needs to catch up, and/or doesn’t plan on getting the DVD set, FX is rerunning the whole 1st season over the next few days before the season 2 premiere.

Well… he’s got some definite family issues…

I forget his exact standing with the department at the end of S1.

Mackey isn’t on the run IIRC. But with last time’s cliffhanger, it just means he’ll be more unstable now.

I cant rememeber the last damn episode. Doesnt he kill that guy… that commisioner or whatever.. the guy who played Kowalski in Stargate. Gilroy i think his name is. Didnt Vic kill him?

All I know is, I remember Coldplay’s “Trouble” playing over the final scene. Right?

Man, that finale was great…and that last scene really showed Vic’s human side. And showed why he’s one of the greatest characters on television.

I thought he ended up killing himself. I’m also thinking the season ended with Mackey making a tentative truce with the Captain and Mackey’s wife leaving him.

Gilroy did not kill himself. Vic took him in so Acevada got the credit he wanted for bringing down a crooked cop and giving Vic some breathing room.

Cool episode. Not a GREAT opener, but very decent nonetheless.

The scene with Vic and Shane in the hallway was powerful.

it’s good to have Vic Mackey back on our screens, our weekly dose of baldy badass. Even his bug eyed pal is starting to grow on me…

there’s a nice tension between the two characters.
