I’m interested in this for two reasons:

  1. The excellent possibility that Mr. Hugh Laurie will collect a well-deserved hood ornament and drop a typically witty and self-diminishing acceptance speech, and

  2. “Emmy Idol”, which has the potential to be one of the worst things ever broadcast:

Shatner sings? I wish he’d do “Rocket Man” but I’m not picky.

Other than that I just hope 24 wins so that I can come on here and watch everyone piss and moan about it.

No one can do “Rocket Man” better than Stewie Griffin.

That’s for sure, they should have Stewie and Shatner do a duet instead of going with the obvious “Star Trek” stuff.

Awesome. “Emmy Idol” promises to be Rob Lowe/Snow White bad. I’m there!

Sounds hysterical. For the first time ever, I will be watching the Emmy Awards ceremony.

I’ll just do running commentary although I won’t be commenting on anything between 9 and 10 because I’ll be watching Family Guy and American Dad.

But Brad Garrett just won his THIRD Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Emmy and it just highlights why I’m not crazy about the Emmy’s because I think alot of the nominations and wins are based on previous work rather than the actual quality of the show. How else do you explain any nominations for 24?

Anyway, I’m glad that Entourage already has another season ready for nomination and Arrested Development will be back to get more nominations and with Raymond gone perhaps Piven or Tambor can get their due.

Donald Trump singing the theme to Green Acres is almost as bad as Hurrican Katrina. By the end of the show, there’s going to be a telethon to raise money for people traumatized by that “performance”.

While I’d like to see that award go to Stewart, he’s sure to win something tonight and plus he’s won in previous years and plus I’m a Hugh Jackman fan and I like that he’s sporting his Wolvering chops.

Shatner should go back to doing Priceline commercials and let a real acting talent like Terry O’ Quinn win the award he obviously deserved.

You’d think after all these years I would have developed some type of immunity to awkward presenter banter, but no: that first half hour had me rolled up in the fetal position on my couch from second degree dousche-chills.

A Blue Man Group without Tobias is worthless.

The Amazing Race is certainly an amazing show but I can’t watch it because it’s just too intense. Watching the season finale I thought I was going to have a heart attack.

Yunjin Kim definitely should have received a nomination in the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama category which Blythe Danner (?) just won. She broke my heart (and many others I’m sure) in several scenes last season.

If Jessica Walters doesn’t win, my wife is going to be introduced to our phone book.

As I’m not watching this, will someone please post in the unlikely event that someone on air calls bullshit on Desperate Housewives being submitted as a comedy?
