Say what? I can understand some people not liking Furlong, but Hamilton was the whole human aspect of the films. Taking her out of T3 effectively turned it into a drama-less video game, where the ‘hero’ just has to escape the city before the bomb goes off.

Great action, of course, good story, compelling characters- not so much, at least not John. I wanted the Patrick terminator to stamp his miserable ass out and wear his entrails as a party hat.
If anyone can watch it still and not want to throttle Eddie Furlong, you have a stronger constitution than I.

Why was she portrayed as some nutjob? Sure, they all thought she was insane, but why did she give them the ammo to get locked up? I know it’s all part of the drama, but she wouldn’t have been that stupid and careless. She knew what the future was going to be like, she would have quietly prepared for it and kept her son safe as possible. It just felt too easy and not terribly logical for Cameron to make her a nut. Hamilton is fine in the stuff she’s in, but she’s no thespian of any enormous talent so her absence in T3 meant nothing to me.

T2 overrated! what are you smoking?
I don’t get the hatred for Furlong - I thought he was great as John.
He was awful. And Hamilton was a shade and a half above adequate. And the “funny” dialogue is painful.
Nice chase scenes, though. If that’s all it takes to make a film “great”, though, then the original The Italian Job is a better movie. Which it is.

T3 had some truly great moments, but it also had the most low-points of the series. “Talk to the hand”, my ass.
Put me in the “I never understood the worship of T2” camp. I loved the grubby, b-movie feel of the original, thanks in large part to Michael Biehn and a barely talking Arnold. T2 was the Disney ride version of the same shit.

Easily. But the Bionic Woman pilot was so bad that they fired the showrunner and recast some of the actors.
I found the Terminator pilot to be one of the better ones in a batch of pilots where none were great, but many were promising.

I’m in the same boat. If anything, T3 does a decent job of trying to clean up the complete mess that T2 made of the continuity. T2 seems to be about as overrated as T3 is underrated. Hell, T3 made me want to see a T4 (and made this series viable), and that’s quite an accomplishment.
Anyways, pairing this series with 24 seems like a great move. From what I can tell from the pilot, the Terminator series is going to be closest to 24 in terms of how episodes play out (ie a continuous storyline, not "story of the week"
. My biggest worry is that the show will be neutered so as not to offend people who’d never watch or like it anyway.

That was cheese, don’t get me wrong, but “Talk to the hand”(with that horrible music playing), and the Elton John sunglasses*, was far worse.
*Not that “Bad to the Bone” playing in the similar scene in T2 wasn’t cheese as well, but my god.
Actually, I thought all of the faux-cool lines that John teaches the Terminator in T2 were cringe-inducingly awful.

And that’s the entire point of T2, that was stepped on by T3. She didn’t want to just hide away and let the war happen, she wanted to stop it. Which is why she tried to blow up Cyberdyne. As far as the truth with Silberman is concerned, either she figured it would be easier to break out of a mental institution than a prison, or they drugged her up so badly she told them everything she knew.

This is another case of a fan doing the screenwriter’s job for him. It shouldn’t be your job to fill in that hole. It was Cameron’s.
Besides, since T2 pretty much stepped on the whole point of the first film, seeing 3 do the same to 2 didn’t upset me much.
I think we can all agree on one thing: Commando is better than the entire Terminator franchise.

No, it doesn’t. Sarah dies in 1997 according to T3. The Sarah Connor Chronicles starts in 1999 (two years after T2, which would set that film’s events right before Judgment Day, going completely against the Terminator’s timeline of events… whatever).
Not to mention ‘River Terminator’ says Judgment Day is in April 2011, whereas T3’s is July 2004.
Uh oh. Thar’s gonna be a fan rumble.
What it all comes down to is:
Time travel films shouldn’t have sequels and spin-offs.
