I’m guessing she’s a hologram on the bridge of the Enterprise D since we’ll be seeing it at some point.

It was confirmed that the saucer was rescued from Veredian 3 and put in the fleet museum in S2 and Burton has said they did some filming on it.

Fully expecting to get a s3 trailer today once the “Star Trek Day” stuff kicks off on P+.

S3 drops on Feb 16th.

S3 Teaser #2

Lots of new information from Terry Matalas in this interview:

I follow the guy on Twitter that created the “Titan-A”, he also did the new Stargazer and TOS era Stargazer from S2

That man is a fantastic builder/designer.

@BuckAdmiral

Fuck…yeah.

Not a fan of bringing back Moriarty or using the STO design for the 1701-F. But everything else looks good.

Spiner did confirm he’s playing Lore.

Pacifist Worf is a fun twist.

And one of the two women playing Geordi’s daughters is actually LeVar Burtons daughter.

We should all age so well as Daniel Davis.

Goddamn I wish I liked this show. So heartbreaking to me as Picard is one of my favorite characters in all of television.

At least I was prepared for disappointment knowing from the start Kurtzmann and Goldsman were involved heavily. If I hadn’t had that ill omen I would have been straight devastated watching through S2:E3 like I did and just watching the damn thing get worse and worse.

Kurtzman and Goldsman had little to do with the production of seasons 2 and 3 of Picard – Goldsman had already largely begun working on Strange New Worlds at that point (despite having a couple of shared, overlapping credits with several other writers last season), and apart from the shakeup at the end of DSC season one, Kurtzman has always played a very indirect role in showrunning the Secret Hideout Trek-era. Chabon was also pretty much checked out, too (he was busy producing his Kavalier & Clay-adaptation). Terry Matalas is who primarily steered the second and the upcoming third seasons, in terms of supervising the writing process, filming, etc.

Also…hard disagree that this was a horrible season. There might have been a couple of uneven episodes here and there, but otherwise the show was largely fine, and will age rather nicely in the end.

WTF is Amanda Plummer playing? A new villain? Because I don’t recognize her as a character from the show or films.

Plummer’s character is named “Vadic,” and according to the NYCC-panel, she’s the captain of the Shrike, a “warship that has set its sights on Jean-Luc Picard and his old crewmates from his days on the Enterprise.”

Also, Gates McFadden revealed that apparently Picard and Dr. Crusher haven’t even seen each other for over 20 years or thereabouts as the new season begins.

Okay, well, fair enough, I didn’t make it through the second season so maybe it all came together better than the first one did, but I really did not like the first few episodes.

I know Goldsman was involved with Strange New Worlds, and it definitely has some of his fingerprints, but I have to give Henry Alonso Myers a world of credit because every interview he has done about SNW makes me think he is largely responsible (from a showrunning perspective) for everything that works in it.

But yeah, I think for me my best move now is active repression of all things TNG post-First Contact. I forget things pretty easily these days, hoping the PICARD show will fade from my brain completely.

^ Yeah, Henry Alonso Myers does deserve a great deal of the credit for why SNW turned out so great in the end – Goldsman is sort of his partner on that show, but the day-to-day operations were largely run by Myers himself, reportedly.

I think Goldsman did act as show runner for the 2nd half of S2 while Matalas went off to start on S3. I believe they shot it B2B with S2.

S2’ s biggest issue was that it felt like a 5-7 episode series that was stretched to 10. There was just so much unnecessary filler.

I think it was also greatly affected by Covid. They were filming while restrictions were high and I believe they had to pause a few times over some outbreaks. You notice that most of the time everyone is split up in 2-3 person groups. Raffi and Seven, Picard and Jurati, Picard and his mom, Rios and the hot Doctor, etc…

I’m gonna try a rewatch before S3. Hopefully it plays better the 2nd time like S1 did.

^ True, I think I did read about the Matalas-prepping-S3 thing a while back, now that you mention it. Totally forgot about that.

I haven’t watched the first two seasons of PICARD but holy shit does S3 look awesome.
Also, I’m really digging Amanda Plummer’s take on the bad guy, at least as far as the trailer indicates.

I’m curious to see where her connection to the crew comes from. Was it a mission aboard the 1701-D, maybe a small connection to an episode? Or maybe is she connected to some unseen mission post-TNG in between one of the movies.

Robert Meyer Burnett said that he freaking loved reading all of the season 3 scripts, so if even he’s pumped for the new season, it must be something really special. And yup, I was wondering myself which Enterprise has the connection to Plummer’s character, the D or the E? Should be interesting to find out, here.

Hopefully she’s some sort of descendent to General Chang from ST6.
