Smallville Season 5

Wow. That’s all i have to say about last night’s season premiere. Where the hell are they taking this show next? I know that next episode is gonna feature some supa-sex, but other than that, this season looks to be very surprising. For all those not in the know, the character at the end was Brainiac. I hear Aquaman’s bitch ass is supposed to make an appearance later in the season. Nothing like scraping the bottom of the barrel for guest stars. What did everyone else think about the season opener?

I’m glad you said he was Brainiac, because I was wracking my fucking brain trying to figure out why they would turn Zod into the Golgothan Shit-Monster…

I was very happy with last nights episode. I am glad to see that in their new time-slot they’re kicking it into overdrive.

My only problem with last night’s episode (after watching it again this morning) is that they should have done more with the Kryptonian throwdown. Considering most townsfolk were either dead or hospitilized, Clark could have whupped those Old Navy sportin’ Kryptonian fucks.
Also dug the subtle use of footage from the original “Superman” movie (the reflection of the Fortress in Chloe’s eyes was from the movie)

This show’s the ultimate tease. This episode was pretty good, which means we’re due for about 3-4 stinkers before the next good one.

I’d agree that the Kryptonian fight was a wasted opportunity. They aren’t that many of these guys out there, they really should’ve gotten a bit more mileage out of them.

At least the plot moved for the first time in 4 years.

Also got a woody when I heard who was voicing Jor-El.

And can someone fill me in on when the hell they decided to throw Brainiac into the mix? Seeing him and Lois seemed really weird to me because I was under the assumption that he and Lois didn’t meet until he came to Metropolis and Brainiac came on the scene after that. And I thought Zod, Ursa and Non were the other 3 last survivors of Krypton, what’s with the 2 last night? Their names were never mentioned I don’t think, but could it have possibly been Ursa and Non (even though Non’s a mute)?

Somebody please fill me in. This is killing me.

Aquaman? Seriously?

Someone fill me in.

Also, I missed this season premiere but I saw the season finale… what was in that ship that crashed on Lana?

Yes, it it true that the writers are taking some…rather interesting creative liberties with the mythos, and I don’t always agree with them. At first, i didn’t like the idea of throwing Lois into the mix, but i started to warm up to her:
A) Because she’s hot
B) I liked the dynamic between her and Clark

I’m real glad they finally resolved that shitty “three stones” storyline. Supposedly this season is going to tie into next summers Bryan Singer flick. I guess that means Clark will start wearing boots that look like Fruit Roll-ups…
Fabfunk, in honor of your fantastic sequels thread, i’ll summarize the premiere. The Fortress of Solitude appears and Jor-el begins to teach Clark stuff. Somehow Chloe tagged along and begins to freeze her balls off. The ship that landed in Smallville housed two “Kryptonians” who are looking for Kal-el. They don’t refer to each other by name, so i don’t know if they’re Ursa and (a black) Non. Chloe reveals that she knows about Clarks powers and he returns to Smallville. Jason (thank god) got hit by a meteorite and died. Jonathan and Martha are ok. Lana somehow gets the idea that the Kryptonians are allergic to the meteor rock and lead them to Lex’s mansion where they get exposed. They knock Lana out just as Clark arrives and grows some nuts. Instead of a great fight, the Kryptonians open a portal to the Phantom Zone and Clark starts to get sucked in. Not having watched any Bond films, the Kryptonians turn around and walk away. Clark escapes the portal and knocks both Krypto-douches into it. Clark loses his powers at sunset (due to a deal with Jor-el Clark renegged on) and he take Lana to the hospital where they both profess their love (awww!) for each other. The landed spaceship is taken to a LuthorCorp bunker where Brainiac oozes out.
Whew! Next week, bumping Super-uglies!

Lana didn’t somehow get the idea, Lionel, recently imbued with what I am assuming is the entire history of Krypton, told her about their weekness to Kryptonite. I believe he referred to them as the descendants of Zod.

I thought he said the “Disciples” of Zod. Either way, things are looking interesting.

OK, forgive the little school girl excitement but … LAST NIGHT WAS SO FRAKEN KICK ASS!!! How cool was that!!! I shed a tear as I had to erase it from my DVR due to lack of space. I think they’ve really mastered the art of Freaks of the Week.

Oh, did anyone actually stick around long enough to see the previews for upcoming episodes??? I about shat twinkee’s!! KICK ASS all I got to say.

so, I guess last nights episode was alright.

Did Clark and Lana have the relations?

Well, thanks for that. I still have no idead what some of this stuff means, but I want to have a curosory knowledge of the ship that Clark finds in the series that he supposedly uses to go to Krypton and back before SUPERMAN RETURNS begins.

Good synopsis for something that sounded impossible to summarize.

It is so nice to see forward plot movement these days. I really enjoyed this weeks show, and I have high hopes for the rest of the season. The Powder Twins were just weird, but I loved seeing Lana with that nail gun. And yes, I believe Supa’ Sex was had. It was very abstract, but i’m sure Clark and Lana “did the dew.” I think it would have been funny as hell if next episode they’re lying in bed and Lana turns to him and says “Wow, you really are faster than a speeding bullet…”
Apparantly Brainiac doesn’t show up until around episode 4, so he’s still lurking in the shadows. Can’t wait until next week, where some guy busts a cap into human Clark’s ass.
Also, it may be just me, but does fuckin’ Bo Duke seem to be getting younger as the show goes on? That guy is bathing in virgin’s blood or something…

about time clark got to nail lana. it was cool to see kenny johnson in something besides the shield as well.

I know this will probably be a moot point by tomorrow night, but on IGN.com they have a quicktime movie with a few minutes from tomorrow’s episode. Clark and Lana get caught by Ma and Pa Kent!

Jonathan: “Clark, what do you think you’re doing?”
Clark: “Uh…fuckin’?”
Jonathan: “I thought we taught you better than that, son.”
Clark:“Oh, fuck off! You know how hard it is to sleep with SuperHearing everytime you and mom dress up and play Dukes of Hazzard?!”

Okay I’ve only seen a few episodes and they were early on. I was impressed that they kept the powers low key and he didn’t run into supers all the time. Is this still true? I mean they’re bringing Aquaman in next week FCOL.

Well, not quite, by way of a recap…

SPOILERS

Clark, having broken Fortress of Solitude curfew, is punished by having his powers stripped from him by Jor-El. Said punishment renders Clark a full-on human subject to puncture, bruising and general mayhem. This development renders Clark joyous, Lana horny, Chloey (who’s in on Clark’s secret) confused, and Pete nothing (since, as an annoying tertiary character, he has long since disappeared into the ether). Unfortunately for Clark, he can’t shake off his heroic nature and, in the course of stopping a madman bent on nuking Smallville, he introduces his gut to a speeding bullet. This, of course, causes him to shuffle off the mortal coil and die. Thereafter, Lex’s pop, who has been kicking it in a mental asylum for getting cataracts and spouting Kryptonian nonsense, busts out of the asylum and super-speeds his way to the hospital to filch Clark’s corpse. Said corpse is then taken to the Fortress of Solitude where it is resurrected. Much to Clark’s chagrin, however, he has been resurrected not as a human (cuz that part of him is now dead), but as a full-on Kryptonian who can do all kinds of super shit (but not reverse the Earth’s rotation to go back in time)… including FLY (for the first time). Unfortunately for Clark, Lex’s pop-- who it turns out has been possessed by Jor-El-- informs him that nature must be balanced, i.e. since Clark’s life has been returned to him, someone close to him’s life must be taken. This leads to the close of the episode where we see Clark in his loft, all broody and morose like he’s Morrissey. Said moroseness is the product of either (a) his knowledge that he can’t shag Lana anymore without a kryptonite condom, or (b) Aquaman is hanging out in the local swimming hole.

^^
Nice recap.. LOL! It’s sounds silly, but it is so true!
