Smallville Season 4 Discussion Thread: Lois Is(n't) Hot!

Due to “overwhelming” demand (from two people no less), this thread will serve as the official thread for the entire 4th season of Smallville, instead of having a new thread each week. Whomsoever has the power may delete the other active S’Ville thread.

To start off this thread, here’s some quick info that isn’t too spoilery, but more obivous to anyone who has turned on their television in the last 5 days.

Christopher Reeve’s character (Dr. Swann) will be killed offscreen(duh), and Margot Kidder’s character (Bridgite Crosby) will basically take over the role of giving Clark new earth-shattering information.

Also, Dr. Quinn is coming to Smallville! Yay! She’ll be playing Jason’s mom for about 5 episodes. Fun stuff.

DISCUSS!

I recently started watching Smallville, and I like it a lot. I went back and have started watching the first couple seasons on DVD. I have a small infatuation with Kristen Kreuk…is that weird? I’m even going to watch her in that SciFi miniseries, Earthsea, just so I can see her kick some tail. Which has been the best season so far?

Not at all, my friend. I’m a recovering Kreukaholic.

Her face always looks like there’s something wrong with it.

Oh man Jane Seymour is gorgeous…for an older woman she holds up quite nicely. But boy back when she was a bond girl…that was HOT.

I don’t know what it is about her, but Tommy likey. I’m interested to see how she plays a more aggressive role in Earthsea. She is always the damsel in distress on Smallville, and I’m thinking she’s a bit tougher in this mini-series. I’ll watch her in any role though.

The WB might be testing the waters to see if there is interest in a Flash spinoff series.

Another major DC character will be showing up in a few weeks, Mr. Mxyzptlk!

Yeah watched smallville for the first time last night just becuse I heard the flash was on there. It wasn’t bad. I didn’t really understand what was going on all the time because this is the only ep ive ever seen. But like I said not bad, but I do wonder why Clark keeps kryptonite in a box in his room if he knows it can kill him? I mean that would be like me sleeping next to a chained tiger or something.

Here’s hoping we get to see Clark goofing off more with the Flash. Now that Clark knows the “Wall of Weird” isn’t a Smallville exclusive, there should be fun stuff to come.

Name of the episode is “Transference”

Why do they always make “crazy Clark” do things that in the real world would never allow him to be forgiven? They paint themselves in these horrible corners. Ah well…

Didn’t get to see this due to history being made in St. Louis, along with South Park, Lost, Drawn Together, and the previous night’s episode of Scrubs still to watch. I finally got to see it today, and it was awesome! I’m glad that the big bad guy (Lionel) finally knows Clark’s secret, and that he didn’t conveniently lose his memory by the end of the episode as usual. I think both Tom Welling and John Glover did great jobs acting as their counterparts.

Next week’s episode has Mr. Mdufhfbvjfbjdbhdbvjx (close enough), but it seems to have a little more Lex than usual, which is always a good thing. Lois may be back, too.

Well, it could just be me, but his delivery of those lines in the doctor’s office led me to think that he was lying to the doctor. I really didn’t think Lionel would say, “Why yes, doctor, I think I know why my liver disease has been cured. Perhaps it was when I switched bodies with a farm boy that has super strength, heat vision, x-ray vision, and super speed. Unfortunately, the stone with markings from an alien civilization that provided said body-switching was lost in the recent prison riot, so I was unable to kill the farmboy in my actual body so that I may live the rest of my life in a superhuman’s body.”

How do you pronounce Mxyzptlk, anyway?

The hell did Clark have to hide? I mean, would it be too hard for Lana or Chloe to buy the body transference story? They’ve all been under the influence of mind altering pheremones or flowers in the past… wasn’t Clark leaving that out just a wee bit unnecessary?

Well, I still think Lionel still knows. Plus, in the past, whenever someone finds out about Clark’s powers, and then loses their memory, the writers makes sure every single character is aware that they forgot the revelation. In this last episode, Clark, Johnathan and Martha are all under the impression that Lionel still knows. Hopefully, when Lionel gets out of prison (we all know it will happen), we’ll find out if he does know.

And seriously, doesn’t everyone love how the writers reneged on Lionel’s liver disease? It’s like this shows in some sort of permanent stasis.

Mix - e - pit - a - lik, stress on the first and third syllables.

In the cartoon, he breaks it down as “Mix-YEZ-Spit-Lick.”

I always thought he was funny on that show. I don’t watch Smallville but I am a bit curious how they’d handle him.

Lex is evil! Yaaayyy!!!

Why the hell would swapping bodies cure his liver disease ? If all Clark’s super powers remained in Clark’s body, then how was Lionel’s disease cured ? Don’t tell me the disease was transferred as well ?!!!
Serious lapses of logic like this undermine some character work in this show.
