You’d think a show like Dexter would appeal more to hardcore republican types. Also, if 24 were still on it’d be nipping at Beck’s heels.
Except for the Kardashians (WTF) and 90210, the Dem’s list is pretty great television.
Age is a factor, that’s why some of those shows show up on the Democrat side.

Yeah, save for Modern Family (which is AWESOME), i consider every single one of those Republican shows to be terrible.
Private Practice is the weak link. Brothers and Sisters has great acting in it.

The parentheses are the opposing political party preferences. So what this tells me are that Dems have diverse tastes, liking shows Repubs like at almost the same degree. Whereas the Repubs are pretty opposed to shows Dems like.
This has taught me that both Republicans and Democrats watch a lot of shitty TV.

What a silly list. Although Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami being number 4 has forced me to look deep down inside myself and question my political beliefs.
Interesting. Many of the blue shows share commonalities like emotional subtlety & moral ambiguity while most of the red shows are “little thought required” & decidedly uncomplicated.
One would think that The Daily Show was #1 on the blue list.

Terrible ones, yes.
It’s not an especially tough not to crack. By definition, a liberal would be more into less beaten territory, and conservatives would be the target audience when something “appeals to everybody”. Also, a lot of the hipper shows have suffered from the internet revolution, DVR, etc.
As to Keeping Up With the Kardashians, E! Network is basically for gay men and gay men in women’s bodies. I have a lot of female, progressive friends who are into that crap, and from what I can tell, there’s been a lot of resentment over how guy dominated mass media has been over the last few years, and girl-targeted guilty pleasures are like televised birth control pills or something.
So the dems love the 2 most violent shows on tv while reps love the comedy show about interracial relationships and a gay couple raising a child, interesting really.

Yeah but gay couple raising a kid, kinda a big deal for those people. Although with such a large spanish population in the us it would be interesting to see how much ratings they contribute to the show. Im betting the spanish fellas might have a problem with that relationship too.
But the gay couple is played for laughs. There have been very few real relationshipy moments. They aren’t seen as threatening.
