Paris Hilton in prison breakout shocker!

I imagine she oozed between the bars like the T-1000 in TERMINATOR 2, but instead of being liquid metal, she’s liquid herpes.

No, she exploded into crabs like Tia Dalma.

“You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Brad Millette again.”

tmz.com says she was on the edge of a nervous breakdown and was suffering from depression.

If that’s the case, does this mean about 99.9% of the current inmates in the US prison system get to do their time at home as well?

Not sure why I’m reading or posting in this thread but anyone who has worked in/around the court system knows that what she did would almost never equal any jail time at all. Her getting out early isn’t exactly evidence of the justice system crashing down.

We wanted to teach you a lesson P-Hilt, but we never meant to make you cry ;(

Well said Mast this is bullshit.

Look out folks, Al Sharpton’s in the mix:

Quote:

…this early release gives all of the appearances of economic and racial favoritism that is constantly cited by poor people and people of color. There are any number of cases of people who handle being incarcerated badly and even have health conditions that are not released. This act smacks of the double standards that many of us raise…

Sharpton’s right. Replace Hilton with any young black person and see what happens.

I heard people discussing this on the radio today, saying that any jail time is above-standard for a crime of this sort. I don’t know what the actual charges are, or how true this is:

I can understand that argument if it was just a DUI violation, but isn’t this a repeat offense, parole violation, etc? Usually there’s some time involved, isn’t there?

No, there isn’t. Sex offenders who violate probation RARELY spend any more than a night in jail. For a traffic offense it’s almost unheard of.

Paris Hilton threads are interesting because they give a lot of people license to spew their misogyny. How can Paris Hilton really affect your life that much? I consume almost no Paris Hilton-related information in a day because I DO NOT CARE. Perhaps you live in an area where you are mandated to read or hear about Hilton, but I doubt it.

Further, seeing people get morally indignant about this sickens me. First, most of you have no understanding of the actual legal situation, and as some people have said, most normal people wouldn’t do much more time than Paris did. Second, THIS is what you get morally outraged about? There’s a fucking genocide in Darfur, but you have venom for a debutante who only did three days in jail?

You know what it is? It’s that you didn’t get your little Paris jail disaster that you wanted to feed your hateful side. There are people here who I think would have been HAPPY if she had been assaulted or raped in jail, and happy in a genuine way, like you felt justice had been served.

Some of you guys need therapy and more constructive things to do during the day.

You’re like the third person to indirectly tell me I need therapy today. The other two were Joe Leydon and Ian Sinclair. I sense a trend among movie review people.

I don’t understand how people can bring up the “legal situation” as if it has any bearing on what’s going on here. I’m not going to pretend that I know enough about the law to say how long Hilton deserves to be in jail, but a judge sure does - and she was sentenced to a stay of 45 days. This has in no way changed. All that’s happened is that she was downgraded to house arrest, for the sake of her own comfort.

I’m not too concerned one way or the other, but the argument that she was already serving a disproportionate sentence is bullshit. She was pulled over for DUI, then pulled over twice more on a suspended license. It’s not unrealistic to say most of us here would have gone to jail on the first offense; every single one of us would have been hauled in and locked up on the second. The general state of chaos and horror in the world today does not discount the concern many people have about a multi-tiered justice system. Young black men - one strike and you’re out. White guys like (most of) us - don’t let it happen again. Paris Hilton - go home and have a nice bubble bath. Fuck that.

Wow, that’s some serious Holier Than Thou shit a few posts up…

This is essentially a water cooler talk about current pop culture events, nobody is actually spewing legitimate hate for God’s sake, and I’d bet that none of us truly cares either. We’re all just bored at work. Chill out.
