Season Premier tonight, so I thought I’d start up a thread for anyone who wants to comment. After renting and watching the first nine episodes of season one, I have to say that it’s pretty good. While I wouldn’t rank it above, let’s say, The Shield or The West Wing, it’s certainly interesting and I like the show’s approach to ethics.
Looking forward to it, though I have to get it taped for me since I don’t get FX.
I’ll watch it first chance I get Wednesday.
It is a very fun show. i enjoyed watching the escapades and sometimes sexcapades of Sean and Julian. It was also a damn well acted show. Great drama as well, and I look forward to season 2 tonight.
Wow, what a fantastic premiere. I really enjoyed this episode, and it laid a lot of interesting groundwork for the future episodes.
Nice to see that the son is still going to be seeing some effects from his joyriding escapade.

Good episode to kickstart the season, but I could have done without that close-up ass-squeeze shot of Sean’s.
I was a little disappointed by Christian’s sudden lack of edge and apparent failure luring younger women (nanny notwithstanding).
But I’m certainly glad the Homeliest Latino Transsexual In The World has not returned.
Good foundation episode.
I like that it started a bit scaled back.
The surgery scene on the gunshot victim was amazing.
I couldn’t watch all of the episode, but does it explain why Dr. Grace Santiago has just suddenly…vanished? I didn’t see Valerie Cruz’s(thats her name, right?) name in the credits either
I thought season one was a bit uneven. Nip/Tuck has a great premise, but sometimes the characters get on my nerves. Julia and Matt being the worst ones. They can be so bi-polar with no reasonable explantation.
I hope to see the mentor-gone-to-seed(Geoffery Lewis) of Sean and Christian’s return in this season. He’s set up to be a great villian, and maybe a harbinger of misery to come for Sean.
Even if the show irritates me, I cannot fault its wankworthiness of the females. If masturbation is a sin, then this show makes me the next anti-christ.
Good god that Grace Santiago character was SMOKING.

I like it. It’s now something he has to deal with and it will be hard for him. He’s been used to getting any girl he wants, becuase of his looks and money, but now he’s getting older and the women he’s typically boned want men that are younger then he is. One thing I love about the show is how Julian McMahon’s character hasn’t changed yet. We think he might have started changing last season and realizing he has to smarten up and act his age, but then comes this season and he hasn’t. The show is doing a good job of showing how hard it is to give something up. Most other shows would have had him kick his habit after two episodes and then be done with it. Great show. I can’t wait until Famke Janssen appears.
The one main characters son looks messed up. I’ve thought that ever since I saw him in Season 1 but now, I definitetly think he has on a few too many layers of makeup.
Absolutely cringe-worthy episode. When Christian was jamming that chisel up his nose and preparing to strike it with the hammer, I just couldn’t keep still. Same when he was awake on the operating table in the same instance.
I liked the faint parallel with Sean’s and his son’s situations, and how he blamed the anesthesiologist for his yip.
This was a much better episode than the season premier. I’m really getting into this show. It’s no Shield, but it’s a good substitute for Tuesday nights.
That was a really great episode. I loved how they overlaid the mother in law’s analysis of the baby boomer generation with Sean ramming that car that blocked him in.
I found Julian’s self rhinoplasty pretty outrageous. maybe a little too unrealistic for the show, but hey i enjoyed it and it showed how desperate Julian is to hold onto his youth.
Matt’s denial was pretty powerful too. Seeing his friend in jail was pretty intense also.
The show is still hitting on all cylinders.

I thought Christian’s motivations were genuine, after the “trauma” he was just put through with the chick (his ex?). Knowing just how vain he is, and having endured the female surgeon telling him ever so gently about his love-handles, he was really going into a bad place there. It was a pretty unsettling thing to watch though…and a strong character moment after that with Sean in the darkened room, and on the OR table. Great dialogue.
Didn’t take long for the show to find its footing once again.
Easily one of my favorite episodes of the series so far, I like how both McNamara and Troy are breaking down simultaneously. Aging was a smart theme to insert in only a second season of a show. In a way it feels more like a fourth or fifth season at this point, minus the waning quality.
Matt’s friend whining and crying as they dragged him back to his cell was pretty horrifying. The fact that he raped Cara was pretty fuckin out of left field (in a good way of course). I’m curious to see where they take his character since he’s been all over the map at this point.
Well written, cringe inducing, and captivating. I’d say this season is going to be pretty special.
Caught the second episode last night and I was floored. I don’t watch much on television besides The Simpsons and Seinfeld, but Nip/Tuck has really been something fresh. I dug Season 1 and so far, I’m digging Season 2.
Watch The Shield, Chesty. You’ll get hooked on FX. Between Nip/Tuck and that, my “regular” TV viewing is very skewed.

That’s probably just because he’s a 27-year-old actor playing a 16-year-old.
As for Christian not changing, I don’t think that’s necessarily true. Like Vic on The Shiled, I think the character is virtually impossible to pin down, which is why I dig the show so much. Good to see him throwing a shot into young meat again, too.
I hear ya. There’s nothing but good things being said about The Shield. From the little bits I’ve seen, I can tell it’s a show I can really dig. When I can find the time to commit to watching the DVDs, I will.
As for FX, I love them already! Just yesterday they were showing Commando. And that ain’t a bad thing.
