It’s still annoying to go through Doctors so quickly, especially when it’s a good one…just because he’s afraid of being typecast. Pierce Brosnan looks like he was born to play Bond, finally got to play him, and people still don’t typecast him.
Ok, so C.E. likes more varied roles than Brosnan, but still…argh.
I am really enjoying this show. I known some people have said that the plots are somewhat lacking but lets face it, Dr. Who has never been high class tv.
I think it sucks that Ecclestone is leaving the show so fucking quick.

Fantastic…good effects, sarcastic humor, great acting. Chris E has nailed the Doctor, and the girl playing Rose continues to be wonderful.
And one hell of a bomb about Gallifrey. Find a copy. They started a major story arc of sorts…as in, stuff has happened, and the arc will be discovering what happened.
And Warren Ellis, god love him, is stoned…I love the credits. Hate the actual logo, but hey.
it was another good episode, but i thought, by far, the smartest bit in that episode was the race called “the Adherents of the Repeated Meme.”
Didn’t they start the gallifrey arc in the first episode. The doctors dialouge with the plastic mind was all about some big war which they had lost. Then again that was probably foreshadowing.
Next episode looks fun… I think it is one of the ones partially written by one of the Leauge of Gentlemen team.
Also anyone have any info on Simon Pegg as he is supposed to turn at some point playing some serious villain. I am hoping for the master but I expect to be dissapointed.

Simon Pegg is featured in an unspecified role. Once again another fantastic episode… by far the best yet in my opinion.
I just thought the Gelf were an incredible enemy and they just looked stunning especially when they finally warped to their evil form.
This show looks like it is too good for kids really…

This was the sort of episode that would scare the shit out of you if you were 7 or 8…in a good way. Never thought I’d see this sort of thing on Saturday teatime on the Beeb again.
Another great fun episode, but I do wish they’d done more two-parters. All the stories so far have felt very rushed in the final fifteen minutes. The Unquiet Dead was crying out for a cliffhanger ending.
I know next week’s episode is a two-parter, and the Daleks story as well, but I guess I’m just enjoying the scenarios and characters so much that I wish they’d take more time with them. Maybe they were worried that if the show wasn’t a hit, people wouldn’t come back if it was an on-going story. Hopefully the second (28th) series will be a bit more confident and give the stories room to breathe.
Yet another mention of the “Time War” as well. Definitely building up to something there, I feel.
I’d like to see them hand over the script duties to some more writers as well. Alan Moore started out writing the Doctor Who comic for Marvel UK. How cool would it be for him to write some new scripts? Nobody does goofy-smart SF like Moore.
Doh! I missed it, but that’s what happens when a new SW soundtrack comes along.
I’ll have to catch the BBC3 one tomorrow…
I’m really enjoying the new episodes. So far only the first two episodes have been shown in Canada but I like the look and the relationship between Rose and the Doctor. Eccleston is good in everything he does. It’s a shame that he left after the first season but he’s doing the promos for CBC before each episode and during the commercial breaks to talk about the the episode and to promote a Doctor Who contest to visit the Doctor Who set in London
Tennant is confirmed as the new Doctor.
A wise choice, IMO.

Anyways once again I really liked this episode… not as much as the Dickens episode but it came close. I thought it was quite clever what they did with the aliens actually. Because they are quite scary sons of bitches in their real form so it was interesting how T. Davies used certain devices to take a little of the scariness away so that it wasn’t too extreme (the farting and general incompetence of the aliens).
Still a good strong episode and the aliens reminded me of a decent looking white alien from Resurrection. A hybrid of the xenomorph and humans which was cool but scary.
They seem to be really cramming the tonal shifts into each episode. The Slitheen double party had everything, it was actually quite farcical at times, yet there were some moments of genuine menace.
Looks like they havent quite distanced themselves from the rubber suit monsters of old thank god.
Billie Piper is just the pants. I would be just as upset if she left the show as Chirs E. Never heard of the new guy. Anyone seen him in anything? I know he was Casanova in a well received TV production but thats all I know.

With one episode of the Eccleston Doctor series left to air (here in Canada at least), I can confirm that I do, in fact, terribly enjoy this show. I’m not the biggest Doctor follower so the series has been very accessible for me, and Eccleston, though he may not be true to how previous Doctors were portrayed, he’s at least a lot of fun to watch.
What bothered me initially was the fact that it was 1-hour format instead of the serialized half-hour format. But in-fact this series has come together into a couple larger storylines. The series has also been heavily earth/England-bound (and modern-day bound) but that’s forgivable. Rose is great, and Captain Jack has been a fun addition to the latter half.
Okay, the effects are cheesy and the sci-fi in many instances is kind of weak, but overall it’s incredibly fun. I’ll be sad to see Eccleston go, but it’ll be great to see a doctor die and a new doctor pop up again so quickly. The final episode looks like an action-packed hoot as the good Dr. takes on thousands of Daleks to save both Rose and Earth (again).

Just watched the final two parter of the series and i must confess it gave me the Horn.
Ill be quite happy to slap any daft moong who tries to tell me this new series insnt as good as the old stuff. I think its top shelf TV. The last two minutes of the penultimate episode had little rivers of tingles running through the bit of my flesh that is just under the surface.
The second episode, with the Big Bad Ass Dude in it was just fantastic. Im amazed at how closely they have kept to the spirit of the original show…in the finale there was even a Dalek Quote from a Tom Baker episode. Gold!
I didnt realise that the ending was going to be as it was, and was totally shocked when it happened.
Cant wait to see the next series.
