My most antisipated show on this season, and it finally gets underway Tuesday night at 9 PM, and without commericial interuption, which is a good thing because that means I won’t have to sit through that dreaded 9:47 commercial break, fans know what I mean. This season shows alot of promise, but I have been trying to not see any promos for it, but being a baseball fan, it was hard not to. I’m not going to ask if anyone is hyped for the new season, but instead your thoughts before going into the first episode tomorrow night?
I’m damn excited, and I think it’s gonna be better than the first season. That’ll be hard to top but everything i’ve seen in the promos looks incredible. Jack seems more badass this time around, if that’s possible.
Get ready for some agonizing weeks coming up…as if the commercial breaks weren’t bad enough, we’ve got that Tuesday to Tuesday gap which proved to be HELL last season since every episode has a cliffhanger.
Looking forward to it, with some reservations.
I do think it will be an improvement upon the first season, especially with that idiot Teri out of the way.
And I am glad to see that Haysbert, Xander Berkeley, and Soul Patch Tony are all coming back.
I can’t wait for the clock to start ticking again…
Bauer looks more pained, more haggard, and all-around more badass than the previous season.
Hopefully, they’ve thought out the plot a bit better this time around and Kim well be more than just a silly damsel in distress.

This season takes place 8 months after last season. Bauer no longer works for CTU but gets pulled back in (I won’t divulge for what).
I’m excited about this season because Bauer is so burnt by his daughters kidnapping, his wife dying and the assasination attempt on Palmer, etc. that he doesn’t care about playing by the rules anymore (not like he really did last season) and so he will be much more aggressive this season. Expect lots more violence from Bauer!
Expect more violence, eh? Cool! I imagine the producers liked the reaction they got from “Blazin’ Twin Barrels o’ DEATH” Bauer ™ last season and decided to keep him that way for another 24 hours. I’m excited for the new season.

That’s exactly what it looks like. Killing off Teri is the best idea to advance Bauer’s character and make the series more interesting. I am psyched!
You know, as annoying as Teri was, I couldn’t help but feel sorry for her by the end of last season. Anything bad that could happen to a woman happened to her. And to cap it all off, she gets capped.
I’m just glad that there’s some distance from this day and the day of last season. If it were like a few weeks and they tried to waltz in this new love interest, I just wouldn’t buy it, no matter how pathetic Teri was.

Expect FOX to use the extra minutes at the end for either a lot of trailers or interviews with cast and crew, etc. There will be at least 6 minutes, if not more.

Could Jack Bauer be a cooler character? I think not.
That scene of him at the end looking in the mirror…complete badass.
Kim was looking mighty scrumptious…and did anyone think that guy who was getting married looked a lot like Rick? I know it’s not him but then again…you never know with this show.
Oh yeah…what the fuck was Darlene Connor doing at CTU? But actually, she’s an early candidate for being a mole, i’d say.
Anyway, a very very very good episode. Get ready for those agonizing week long periods between new episodes!
The new Kim story-line involving the abusive husband had me rolling my eyes. It seemed waaay too contrived, like the amnesia incident from last season. The husband was straight out of a bad SNL skit – his blatant leering, his “you have a great body” line, and his sudden psycho transformation was laughable. Looks like we’ll have to look forward to more of Kim’s over-acting and hammy reaction shots this season.
The rest of the episode was good, though.
I was watching while doing homework…did they say what he needed the hacksaw for? Was it to cut the guy out of the chair?
What a fantastic show. It wasn’t an episode that hits you over the head with intensity, but it showed tighter, more consistent writing is going to be the norm for the 2nd season (I’m assuming based on this episode.)
Hacksaw: I’m guessing the guy was handcuffed,they wouldnt have him in the room unrestrained, so Jack needed to get those handcuffs off.
George Mason: “Jeeze…one shot fired in the first episode of the season…in a CTU office…again…at least I didn’t get tranquilized again!”
One other subtle line in the script: the Prime Minister’s “1/3 of the world population will be your enemy” line…he could have been referring to the combined forces of him and his allied countries, or perhaps he was referring to the world’s Muslim poulation, if their even a Muslim country.

A fantastic opening.
The episode layed some great groundwork for what’s to come. I love seeing Jack and Mason taking stabs at each other again (or rather, Jack just making Mason his bitch). It was sad seeing Jack walk around like a bum but when he took charge you just knew that he wasn’t going to relent. But the thing with the witness was incredible. I couldn’t believe what I saw.
I actually liked the Kim in the abusive household situation. It gave the show a different sort of tension. Although Devin may have been joking, I did think they layed it all out there pretty blatently.
And you just know that guy from Beverly Hills Cop III is up to no good.
What a way to start the day.
