Charlie could have the smallest story-arc in an episode and it’d still be the funniest. He’s great.
Also, the gang complaining about always doing the same thing and then it cuts to them drinking in the park was literally me and my friends.
A co-worker just came in and gave me a bunch of hell for going out and not staying in to watch it. I think I’m going home at lunch and firing up the DVR.

So very true! His joy at finding the sword was hilarious. But my wife and I really lost it when Charlie was squirming around in bed, too excited to sleep. And episode 2 with Charlie as Green Man? Very funny stuff.
I love how it’s a given among the group that Frank walks around with a gun.

I’ve been loving that, too. I was a little underwhelmed with bits of the eps last night but it is good to have the show back.
I’m so glad this show is back. I liked the first episode more than the second but they were both hilarious. It’s clear that this show is only going to get meaner. I love it.
This show has been on for 3 seasons? I watched it last night for the first time. Never even heard of it before. It’s a funny show.

As for the article you posted earlier, I don’t see why some critics think its a bad thing that this show is changing. While I’m not wild about the McPoyles becoming regular characters (they work best in smalls doses, and just when its the two brothers), I’ll never get mad at a show for trying something new rather than just sticking to what worked the first time. And come on, that shot of Dennis running was kind of cool.
As for the episodes themselves, they were both great. I loved them taking DB to the tanning salon to make him Mexican, the Alli Baba sword, and of course Green Man.
I’d rather Artemis become a regular instead of the McPoyles.
That New York Times article is annoying. What’s with all the Mr.? Mr. McElhenney, Mr. Howerton, Mr. Day, Mr. Shakman, Ms. Olson, Mr. Landgraf, Mr. Devito.
Yeah, I’d rather the McPoyles not be regulars. We don’t really need more of them then were getting.

A) If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
B) If the changes came from the creative team that’s one thing. But the way the article reads, it makes me think the changes are due to F/X wanting to make the show more viewer friendly. I know the world doesn’t work this way anymore, but what happened to just letting a show grow? IASIP attracted new viewers each season. Sometime you just have to trust that people will catch on. I mean, the first season only had 7 episodes. By the time people got into it, it was over. F/X just needed to give the show a regular season episode order and leave the show be.

Good point, and usually I agree with you. It’s just that I don’t really disagree with a lot of the changes FX has made (outside of DeVito, but even him I’ve come to enjoy.) During the first season, the guys were talking about how they loved that FX would read the script and the only notes they would give would be “push it further” and they cited the abortion episode as an example. As for the other changes right now, I really don’t have a problem with them. Sure it’s better lit, and it loses a bit of that gritty atmosphere that the first season had, but if it gets more viewers, I can live with that.
