A cut above Threshold in my book.
I dunno, maybe it was LOST-hangover (seriously, that show is so good I can’t follow it with anything), but I really didn’t care for this show. Nothing of interest really grabbed me, and the cast was uninteresting. Although nice to see Lolita from BROKEN FLOWERS with clothes on.
Also, this really doesn’t seem like show material. If these aliens had any stones between their legs, this show would last four episodes. If there’s nothing crazy bizarre coming up, I’m not watching.
It was…okay. I’d have to agree with fabfunk that following Lost is a tough act to follow. The direction was top-notch but the characters all seem to be rather stock (the precocious daughter, the conspiracy theory uncle, etc.). I’m slightly interested to see where it goes but I don’t know; it seems like this would fit better as a miniseries more than a show.
But, hey, William Fincter.
Yeah, I actually didn’t care for this one at all. It might be the post-Lost letdown thing, which will only get worse in the future when I also watch Veronica Mars first, but I really couldn’t get into the show and didn’t find it nearly as interesting as Threshold, which was, to me, head and shoulders above this.
Which is the one with Carla “Jugs” Gugino?

I didn’t see this show nor did I comment on it. TM you smell different.

A decent start. The conspiracy theory uncle bothered me. You could have gotten to the same point with a normal guy who wanted to know more about the lights the girl saw. It gets a couple more viewings since I have no interest in CSI or L&O.
I figured LOST was going to be hard to follow so I decided to let off until tonight when I could watch it without that on the immediate burner.

I think that’s a very fair assessment of this show.
Bored me to tears it did… conventional set-up, dull characters, slow pacing, too much of a small scope
I had watched “Surface” off TiVo earlier in the day and thought Invasion to be inferior.
Did the pilot for Threshold air already?
My TiVo didn’t catch it despite programming it in.

My approach as well. Tivo did the work, but I’m not really interested in watching it quite yet.
Have Threshold sitting sitting on the TiVO hard drive still, we’ll get to that one soon. Watched Invasion a little bit after LOST and found it well…okay. Nothing great, seems like a typical us versus them kinda thing mixed with a little THEY LIVE thrown in there. If Conspiracy Uncle finds some sunglasses I have feeling he ain’t gonna need anymore bubble gum.

Damn. I’m hoping that the Canadian broadcaster (Global) is a week behind and that they’ll be airing the pilot tomorrow.
Invasion was uninvolving, but not bad. Post-Lost letdown disorder. But Threshold’s premiere was better than Invasion’s premiere. Invasion has a bit of decent paranoia, a nice slow burn and the story runs “bottom up,” whereas Threshold is more action-oriented and the story is more “top down.” Will ahve to wait and see which one progresses in a more interesting way.
Jesus Christ, how far away did that little girl go to find her fucking cat? After her dad gets her in the car, they drive for a good three minutes at least before crashing, and they still weren’t all that close to the house.
This one ranks third behind Gugino and the sea monster show.
Not good. But it’s good to see Paul Walker’s clone getting TV work.
Ho-hum premiere. I too was thrown off by the girl being so far away looking for her cat (and the dad actually finding her) - it didn’t make a lot of sense. Conspiracy theorist uncle is a little convenient too.
I’ll give it a chance (with DVR, anything remotely interesting gets a chance!)
Re: Threshold - Networks who don’t re-air premieres should be happy for torrents and newsgroups, lest I would not be tuning into the 3rd episode tonight 
Hmm, okay. I suppose it was better than the pilot but then again, it still suffers from having “slow burn.” I suppose I wouldn’t mind it as much if the characters were memorable or distinguishable in some way (and I hate Conspiracy Theory Dave, already - so fucking annoying). There’s a nice tension build at least.
Otherwise, I don’t know. Next week’s looks better.
