So according to footage shown at Paley Fest, Linderman is behind the nuke in NYC, which is intended to bring the world together.
A) This is ripped off COMPLETELY from WATCHMEN. Like, embarrassingly so. Anyone still defending this show now has to contend with it being bad but also the fact that it steals story ideas.
B) Do they have a different president in HEROES universe? I believe 9/11 showed that our president can use up the world’s good will quite quickly.
Man, fuck this show so much. I don’t even watch the thing with any real regularity, I never did, but seriously, fuck that.
So what. The nuke might be origional but the idea isn’t. You can’t tell me that no other story before WATCHMEN had a 3rd party try and manipulate 2 other going to war. Many writers borrow from some others work. They will create entire episodes around movies or books.
Besides the nuke isn’t going to go off so you are getting pissed over nothing. They saved the cheerleader and now it’s time to save the world.
24 is ripping off the Sum of All Fears with Russians trying to get the Americans to go nuclear with the Arab world.

Linderman is a part of a former superhero team… just like Ozymandias in WATCHMEN.
Linderman is going to do a terrible thing that kills millions in NYC so that he can bring about world peace… just like Ozymandias in WATCHMEN.
It’s the exact same story. The only difference is that Linderman hasn’t been killing off his old friends to keep them from getting in the way… but we still have a couple of episodes to find out that he has been!
I don’t even watch this show but I’m going to be on my last fucking nerve if I leave Zach Snyder’s “Watchmen” and I have to hear 30 different people mumbling about how it “ripped off heroes.”
The sad thing? When the movie comes out, people will think Watchmen ripped off Heroes.
At the very least, they’re ripping off from the best.

I’ve been telling my wife since this show started that it’s a complete ripoff of a bunch of X-men shit (and not even good X-men shit) and now that they’re ripping Watchmen, i feel even better that I didn’t get sucked in. In my wife’s defense, though, she stopped watching in mid-February both because of the quality of the dialogue and my relentless taunting. Too bad it appeals to so many people, though. it’ll be annoying us for at least another year. Maybe it will have post-Nuke issues like how Twin Peaks lost viewers after they revealed who killed Laura Palmer.
We can always hope. But I’d still rather watch the pathetic episodes of season 2 twin peaks than any episode of heroes.

What pisses me off is that Watchmen is going to come out and casual moviegoers are gonna be leaving the theater saying “Dude, that movie sucked. Totally ripped off Heroes.”

I also doubt if Heroes will have the cajones to actually go ahead and lay waste to NYC. I’m sure the future Hiro went to was simply an example of a divergent time-line or a “in case A, then B” scenario.

Not only is it ripped off from Watchmen, but how does that even makes sense considering how the storyline has developed? What of Peter’s prophetic dreams? If it’s just Linderman detonating a nuke then what the hell is Sylar’s and exploding Ted’s role in all of this?
I could think of worst people to think alike with. Not much better, mind you, but far worse.
