I predict Sylar will try to brain snack the big bad, get his ass handed to him, then come crawling to the heroes for help. And Boring Indian will ominously say “Who could possibly do THIS to Sylar?” and everyone will be really scared, setting up the dramatic showdown in the season finale.
Yeah and in the showdown the villain will get punched a couple of times and then Peter will fail to use one of his powers even if it means saving someones life. Ya know I really liked Heroes and I ignored alot of things but that fucking Finale…ugh. But truthfully im sure I will watch the second season because either im hoping they won’t fuck up the season finale again or im a glutton for punishment.

This would almost work, except that he needs to kill Sylar. And he needs to do it in the opening five minutes of the season premiere. And he needs to take Borehinder, Nikki, her kid, and the Nissan Versa with him. And then he needs to beat Tim Kring to within an inch of his life, compelling a weeping apology for all he’s done wrong, and leaving the show in the hands of someone competent.
No, fuck it, it would still suck. Monkeys with jetpacks, that’s their only option.
Ya know truth is I didn’t hate heroes as much as anyone else. I actually put up with the theft claim, I thought there was some really good television there. But that fucking finale really killed it for me. Not only was the Sylar vs. Peter fight awful but I never did figure out where Peter was getting his dream visions from. And when he passed out how did he talk to…ohh fuck it. I really do have a sincere hope that season 2 is better. Im actualyl curious how they are going to deal with Peter. I don’t mean his death because obviously he isn’t dead but how powerful he is. I mean he now has everyones power, possibly Lindermans too. Doesn’t that make all the other heroes kinda worthless?

Kring and his team actually handle this quite well. This bit of dialogue from the season opener should clear all that up for you:
INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY
PETER PETRELLI enters the room. He sees MATT PARKMAN, who happens to be sitting around. Parkman is wearing a T-Shirt with a drawing of a Rorschach inkblot on it *wink wink*.
PARKMAN
“Hey Peter. So you’re alive, hey?”
PETRELLI
“Yeah”
PARKMAN
“That’s great. And your brother?”
PETRELLI
“He’s alive too. He released me a moment before I exploded.”
PARKMAN
“Awesome. So, since you have all our powers, I guess that makes you the most powerful hero on the planet”
PETRELLI
“No, you see when I exploded I lost all my powers. My DNA just couldn’t handle it. That’s the reason I have this scar when I should be able to regenerate.”
PARKMAN
“Oh wow, so I guess you’re not that powerful anymore.”
Quarant, you know better than that. This show never provides lame explanations for things. They just don’t provide explanations at all, and expect the fans to do the legwork to justify whatever doesn’t fit.

Its funny but if you had two friends, one talking Matrix sequels, and the other, Heroes, you could be giving the same answer to both of them at the same time.
Over at AICN La Kring says that the new villain “will be dealt with in the first episode of season two”. Which makes me seriously think that I’m right, and that Sylar was only left alive so that the new villain can crush him in the first act of season two and show just how kewl and badass and unstoppable he is.
Seriously. What would this show do without its most poorly-acted, one-note, annoying character?
I actually didn’t hate the Sylar character at all. i thought that Quinto played the part rather well. Really I liked the idea of a guy who had vitually no identity, no life and all the people he killed was basicaly to impress his mother. He was so much of a non person that it was easy for him to take on the persona of that guy who liquified matter. But why it’s necessary for him to be around I don’t know, he needs to die.
It’s very frustrating for me how much love this show is getting when the product is so underserving. Geek publication “Wizard: The Guide to Comics”* has had a article about the series in every issue for the last 6 months. It’s like the fanboy community is so desperate for mainstream vindication that they’ll slap their “approved” sticker on any tepid piece of comic genre shit.
Really, I gave the show a chance last season and received nothing back but disgust for my investment.
*Yeah, I have a subscription. I have since '95. I really need to quit automatically renewing it every 2 years.
Apparently the Wonder Twins will be characters on the new season. One of the terrible entertainment news shows had a couple new cast members on last night and the girl said her powers didn’t really work without her brother around.
This show would be fine if not for the undeserved popularity. It’s mediocre and silly, yet overly loved. A fairly large number of people actually consider this to be a great, quality show - they call it one of the best shows on TV, with a straight face! It got Emmy nominations! For a show that wasn’t even in the top TWENTY-FIVE or so dramas in terms of depth and quality - the exact ranking is a matter of opinion, but if you have Heroes anywhere near your top 10 (based on quality), you’re just WRONG. Personally, I’d place it well behind shows that never even get mentioned (like Eureka), or shows that have already been cancelled (like Daybreak).
It’s like living in a Bizarro world. Which is fitting, since this show has taken on a Lost-level of popularity with a Smallville-level of quality.
Not only is Peter still alive, Nathan and Sylar are too, and Sylar’s not about to croak in the opening sequence of the premiere, either. Wow. I mean, wow. Way to completely invalidate everything that happened in the finale. And the entire first season, really.
They also lost the one writer who seemed like he might have been semi-competent, since he created the apparently vastly superior “Pushing Daisies”.
Yeah, the show is just going to be a trainwreck this season. Can’t wait!
