The Peoples court theme song had me laughing something fierce and Dr. Who being in hyperspace was good…otherwise this was pretty crap.

Which Dr. Who did they used?
I had to do a Google search to find out who Herbet is. You’re right, he’s terrible and always has been. Still, the show as been terrible ever since it came back so, I don’t really care.

The most famous one, Davies I believe? I always forget the actor’s name. Aside from the Doctor Who scene, I really thought the whole thing sucked. It was like watching a Simpsons episode.

I agree that it was incredibly lame. HOWEVER, there is something hilarious to me about Han and Chewie finding a “perfectly good couch” in the garbage pit and taking it with them.
Most of it fell kind of flat, but the Porkins bit killed me. You can never make too much fun of Porkins.

A lot of the jokes felt forced. Phantom Menace? Yeah, cause constant name drops are hilarious.
It did make me remember why Star Wars is so awesome though.
I got a few good laughs out of it. The Peoples’ Court and Dr. Who bits were my favorites, as well.

Yes.
The end with Peter dissing Robot Chicken to Chris was the only funny part.
I agree.
Porkins was the only laugh out loud moment I had.
EDIT: Oh wait, when the Falcon was being pulled in to the Death Star and the one Imperial guy tried to put his arm around the other guy. That made me laugh as well.
I thought it was funny, but after the shitty Simpsons episode, pretty much anything would have been a step up.
“Well, stay here and rot, you stuck-up bitch,” the dig at Danny Elfman, “Congratulations, kid, but don’t get penisy,” and the Yavin scout making “Pew Pew” noises got the biggest laughs out of me, but there was plenty of good stuff to go around.
I laughed a few times. The Porkins and the Redd Foxx bits got me, but too many of the jokes fell completely flat. And Herbert does need to go away FOR A LONG TIME.
Good episode. Could have great, but the show needs to remove its head from its ass. Way too many self references, Herbert is ruining molester humor and two Airplane references is amateur night.
The actual Baker Dr. Who opening playing in hyperspace just killed me. The “Time of My Life” number was pretty forced (no pun intended) – in fact, everything with Obi Wan fell kind of flat for me, and they really under-used the Stewie-as-Vader bit. It was funny, but there were stretches where it was just Star Wars with Family Guy-style animation, no attempt at a joke at all.
I thought this was way better than the Robot Chicken Star wars parody (the Admiral Ackbar bit excepted of course). The meeting with Vader where they discuss the Death Star’s weakness was pretty sweet. That and the hyperspace bit.
But yeah, this episode benefited from the Simpson’s season premier being shit. That and I barely paid attention to it since I was looking for porn.
If the promos were showing most of the “good” bits then I’m glad I skipped this one.
“Simply Red standing by” got a good laugh out of me. Other than that, I was kinda disappointed that they had such free reign over a classic movie for an hour and all they really did was a Cliffs Notes version with a few ha-has thrown in.
