Medellín - Bomb or hit?
Billy’s one-note characterization (Desert Squirrel nailed it with ‘batshit-crazy’) is wearing a bit thin for me, even though his initial cockiness has been replaced with insecurity. Since it only took one episode to cover the entire filming of Medellín I’m hoping post-production will get a deeper examination.
And Sofia Vergara should get a deeper examination too.
I was hoping Medellin would be a huge bomb and then the next season would be Vince working his way back up to the top. Howevere, I figure it’ll probably be a hit and the next season will examine the awards process in Hollywood.
I liked the first episode although it was unrealistic that Turtle, Drama, and Ari would be in this behind-the-scenes documentary.

it was a good one, but i still prefer the Bob Saget cameo. that shit was gangbusters.
i like how Eric doesn’t like the movie, but Vince digs it. looking forward to seeing how it plays out.
I hope it leads to Eric finally getting fired. He has done a shit job as a manager. After Aquaman had the biggest three-day gross ever, there is no way Vince should be broke a year or two later.

Eric should be fired from Entourage, period. I’d kill for a Drama spin-off at this point. The Vince/Crazy Billy storyline is dull as fuck.
The Billy stuff is so tired. At least during the film shoot it was in a different setting which made up for how stale his act is getting. But back in Hollywood the jig is up.
The latest episode was the first in some time that actually makes me look forward to the next episode. I want to see how Medellin is received.
I just wish it became less of the Johnny/Turtle, Vince/Eric thing we’ve been seeing for some time now.
I want to see them all shine during the same scenario. The only time theyre all together usually is when they WALK.
I think the show is at its best when it’s back to business. However, after watching the first two episodes, it irked me that the documentary crew apparently shoots in the exact same style as any other episode and Molti’s right that Billy’s shit is tired. Him escaping on the motorbike was cartoony as hell.
Still, I absolutely loved Ari’s rampage through the school to find out why his son wasn’t being accepted and the learning that the problem was him all along. I wonder how that will go over with the wife (assuming they even bring it up).
Yeah, I rolled my eyes when Billy went tearing out of the room on a motorcycle (and that shot of him looking like Tom Cruise in MI2 certainly didn’t help the matter).
Vader also made a good point about how they are starting to segregate the 6 cast members into Vince/E, Turtle/Drama, and Ari/baby. A little cross pollination wouldn’t hurt. I will admit to laughing at Johnny’s “get the fuck out!” line. I also thought it was interesting to have Vince like the movie and E saying it sucked. I get the impression that Vince didn’t really know what to think of the movie and was just basing his “I was blown away” on how he thought E felt about. I am interested in seeing how that plays out over the next few episodes. As long as Billy goes back to the background and stays the fuck off a motorcycle, things will be alright.
Eric (someone) needs to belt Billy in the face at least once.
I’d say that I trust E’s judgement more than Vince. However I remember the first Carla Gugino episode when she offered them a script to a period piece and they both “loved it” until a few episodes later when Eric said he loved it just because Vince said that he did.
When he is dressed up as Pablo, Vince looks like Tony Clifton.
Funniest moment tonight was when Weinstein threw the DVD at his assistant. More Maury Chaykin is what this show could use right now.

The only real laugh I got was when Hopper kept calling Vince, Aquaman.
Colleen Camp on the other hand…
I remember her fondly from Clue, however.
I was pleasantly surprised with how enjoyable this episode was. Really fun stuff, much more so than the first couple episodes. I hope they can maintain this vibe.
Very good episode. I’m glad Vince is calling Eric on his shit, cause the little prick doesn’t know a damn thing about movies. Lisa Rinna was all kinds of hot, Viva La Cougars!

He did a good job producing Medellín. He also found the Ramones script and would have had it made if Vince didn’t mess it up. He has his flaws but he’s good.
I would assume they make Medellín a modest hit because I don’t see them having Vince a loser in the industry.
