So… Where the hell did this come from?
It’s a midseason show. I’ve covered it for THUD, and it’s been talked about here before.
The script had an awesome opening but quickly got burdened with an overabundance of characters. It’s basically LOST meets Cannonball Run.
Fillion plays a fake, innocent version of Scott Petersen, by the way.
Looks pretty fantastic to me.
Yeah, but as Devin has pointed out, it’s Tim Minear behind it. The thing is doomed.
They definitely seem to be milking the “These 3 Hurrican Katrina survivors are in for the ride of their lives” angle to death on the TV ads. Drive is too close a title to Fastlane for my tastes.
Pardon my lack of TV knowledge, but who’s Tim Minear?
He was Joss Whedon’s co-producer on “Firefly,” wrote for all three Whedon shows, and later went on to create the swiftly cancelled series “Wonderfalls” and “The Inside.” The guy does not have a great track record when it comes to keeping shows on the air.
Well, at least he’s not some sort of hack. I’m still excited for this show.
THE INSIDE was atrocious.
This looks fun. Maybe it can catch some of the goodwill thrown at "Prison Break."
…If Prison Break hadn’t pissed away all its goodwill in its second season.

They are really promoing this one heavily. Key spots during Idol and House tonight.
Fillion and Baker both had some good lines. I’d read the script and thought it was okay, but now I want to see this.
I wouldn’t really be interested if it wasn’t for Fillion & Acker…and I don’t know if Acker actually gets any scenes, or if she’s just the photo on the Missing poster.

Did Minear ever write an episode of Buffy? I could’ve sworn I remembered him complaining about people referring to him as an ex-Buffy writer.

The Inside did suck. This one looks half interesting.
off topic, but do you not think Prison Break picked back up in the last few episodes of the season?
I don’t know if Minear ever wrote an episode of Buffy – I’m too lazy to look it up – but he was definitely part of that Whedon/Mutant Enemy inner circle with people like Espenson, Noxon, etc. It might be just something that got misreported and then taken as fact.
Neat article from the NY Times about this show this week. Apparently, most of the show is shot on a soundstage, and all the car sequences are done CGI by Zoic, the guys who did “Firefly” and have worked on “Battlestar.”

Looks fun, LOST on the highway, but if it’s the least bit entertaining it will be gone by May. Andy Barker is already gone, what the fuck?
