This is basically an excuse to talk about those Monk commericals on USA with Ted Levine and the snow globe. Monk always seems to come up with really clever ads–I remember seeing one for the Dead Zone/Monk last year with Shaloub and Hall as their characters at a detective con. Monk was quizzing Johnny about his powers and if he could read a person without touching them.
Been watching a lot of Spike TV’s Bond Marathon and I dig the commercials for it. The theme is naughty or nice, so they show these random clips of Bond moments and label them as naughty or nice. Good for a laugh.
That jeans commercial where the dog chases the hot girl, trees her, pulls the jeans off her body and returns them to its master. I especially appreciate the blink and you’ll miss it camel toe at the very end.
The past few years the NFL has done a stellar job promoting…nay, pimping the playoffs with some GREAT Don Cheadle commercials. I was pretty pissed to see that Don has to share the stage with Benjamin Bratt this year. Bratt is lower than scraped shit from my boot heel.
I like those Ratchet and Clank ones where the kids ar eshot on camcorder using the weapons from the game in real life. I think its Ratchet and Clank, anyway. Those usually crack me up for some reason.
There was also a toothpaste one a while back with some woman approaching some guy at a party, and he smiles and has the crazy bad yellow teeth. Or maybe it for whitestrips. ell, I dont remember. But I wouldnt be paying much attention when it started, then he would flash those yellow teeth, and it would get me every time.
I am thoroughly amused by the commercial for some cell-phone thing with the guys in the office dancing to Salt-n-Pepa. The choice of song and the one guy’s weird, slow hip motion always gets a chuckle. Just the idea that this is what they chose to do when they had some free time is making me laugh right now.
I realize how annoying it is, but I stop dead in my tracks and stare at the TV everytime that Pepto-Bismol commercial comes on…the whole diarrhea, nausea, etc as they dance around like the macrena or something. amazingly bad…yet fascinating.
There was one series of commercials recently, that I really liked, that isn’t on anymore. It was the ones for the credit card company, I think, that advertised their anti-identity theft service. Each commercial would feature an identity theft victim, mouthing the words of their thief. One that that I especially liked was the middle-aged Asian woman with the voice of “Larry”, some lounge lizard guy, who used her credit to go on a spending rampage that would help him attract women, including a full-body wax to “lube the ol’ chassis”. *Ugh, shudder*
I hate all the car commercials I see except for the Nissan Titan, the one that shows an underside view of the truck. Not sure why that would turn me on, but it does.

Yes, those were great. Citibank owns Capital One when it comes to funny and viewable commercials.
