voltes5: Questioning Dino looks at Bruno and gives him a respective nod. The Chink is still unconscious as he sits in a chair. As much as he wants to beat the crap out of him, he decides to lay one hearty wake-up call. Dino cracks his left hand, turns it into a fist, then lands a hard one on his nose. The Chink wakes up groggily as Dino clears his mind. “Listen, shithead. Your fucking friends had a great ball with me. Ain’t got any patience for any bullshit. And for every wrong answer, your nose will meet Mister Fook,” he says as he lifts his left fist. "And “Mister King,” as he then lifts his right fist. “They’re good at making permanent bruises.” Dino gently touches his swollen nose. The Chink recoils from the pain. “Painful? Good. You’ve met the first mister, do you want to meet the second?” Dino gleefully sneers at the frightened man. “Ain’t got no bruises ‘til I pummel your nose in six ways to fuckin’ Sunday.”
Bad picture, sorry, but think of bruno as Billy Burke, the “messed-up” brother from the spoof “Mafia!”, only with slick hair, unlike his glamour shot here:
Bruno looks on, almost smiling. He knows that Dino was the man for this job if every there was one. His only goal right now is to make sure that he doesn’t get too energetic and accidentally kill the Triad mook too early.
The Triad continues to stonewall Dino, despite the pain he inflicts.
Blunt: The Stakeout Hearing Forbes’ complaints, Virgil can’t help thinking “you think you had it bad, whiny pussy? I’ve been fucking disfigured. Razor Face…fuck that! I should have killed more cops”. Virgil is in a baddest mood than he ever was before. The partial loss of his beauty grates on him constantly and the bureaucratic routine assignment he’s been given does nothing to relieve the tension. With a sigh, he turns to Frank and Romeo. “We’re going or what?”
Romeo looks to you and nods quietly. For a moment, you saw in him the same anger towards the cops. Back in the alley in Chinatown, he was ready to join you, ready to blow away as many blue-boys as you were. There’s something there… something that Romeo obviosuly hasn’t mentioned. Almost like a kindred spirit for Razor Face…
But trying to prod Romeo to talk is like trying to ask Satan to join you in Sunday School. The intimidating visage of the large Italian is too much for Virgil. For now, it is enough to go with the nod. He follows you out the door, assuming Frank is right behind.
Othello arrives at the park not much later wearing the blue overalls and cap of a city employee. His eyes are covered by cheap aviator sunglasses and his trademark van dyke is missing. A heavy cnvas bag is attached to his waist and he is spearing trash with a short pole. Like a good city worker he takes frequent smoke breaks and while he sucks on generic smokes, he surveys the lay of the land.
capteucalyptus (Scott Roche): Administration Othello arrives at the park not much later wearing the blue overalls and cap of a city employee.
The park seems brand new, all shining plastic and coated metal. Probably a quarte mile square, fanced off with waist level cement girders, each bearing the handprints of kids and well-wishers.
There is a jungle gym, a wooden framed maze of slides and ladders, with a couple tire swings, replete with fake tires and clastic coated metal chains. A lengthy set of swings runs along the back end of the park, a couple of spring-mounted ponies dot the other. Outside the fenced in area is an empty soccer field, never been used. The exchange will probably take place there. No way to know for sure…
No signs of hostility. Three or four nuclear families scattered around ice chests and strollers, interacting superficially.
The ground is covered with 6 inches of pebbles. Little else of note for the time being.
Once the playground is spic and span, Othello heads back to the blue Econoline parked across the street. The van’s windows are darkly tinted and it is unmarked. He watches for any new faces. A parabolic mic sits in the passenger seat ready to be brought into play.
Back at the manor, McCready exhales smoke and looks through it at his former colleague.
“Just like old fuckin’ times, eh, boyo? Yeah…”
He exhales again.
“…this Avery fucker, I used to work for him, y’know, but we fuckin’ established where that lead us. He was the one that put the first contract out on your old man. Let’s go, eh, mate?”
Roughly 15 minutes into meeting time, Othello picks up the first notable movement.
Black choppers, three of them, touch down in the distance, drawing the attention of some of the park-goers for a few moments. Daddies holding kids up in awe to see the arrival.
Striding confidently out onto the field is Avery Steadman, flanked immediately by his thugs. The man known as Weasel is nearby, and “Three Rings” Tivoli is pushed into the open, hands locked into black cuffs. Jimmy Palooka rounds out the group.
They stride past the outer goal into the center of the soccer field.
5 minutes remain. Othello overhears various light conversation, banter between Avery and his men. Nothing of any relation to the pending meeting. Weather and other such nonsense. Tivoli is unnaturally quiet.

Othello slips out of the jumpsuit revealing black slacks and a black turtleneck. He keeps the steel-toed workboots on and slips into his duster. The pump is slung under his right arm, pistol grip at the right height to grab through the slit pocket. He transfers the 45 to his left hip. The aviators are traded for black Gargoyle wraps. The briefcase is set at the back of the van and a small transmitter goes into an outside pocket. Back in the front seat he trains the parabolic back on the group and waits for his boss.
“Yeah? Well who’s drivin’ who around?” Paulie asks with a grin as he slides into the passenger’s side. “Look, just keep the ‘I gotta show Daddy I can play with the big boys’ crap to a minimum and we’ll get along just fine.”

“Look wiseass, we are taking my car. Like I’d put one of you half-made Corlione’s behind THIS wheel… I’m letting your carcass touch the leather… you should count yourself lucky. Pipe the fuck down funny man.”
He revs the engine.
“Yeah, I know about you and your cracking wise. I been through a few night classes myself. Now we are gonna pick up quite a bit of money. I will count it, when the numbers get too big. You just wave your gun around when people try to argue and pretend to be a man for five minutes, capice?”
“Hey, your dad, he’s got the word ‘Don’ in front of his name, him I gotta respect. The title buys him that. But you ain’t done nothin’ but show off your Beemer and have the good fortune of having the right bloodline, while I’ve been out there dodgin’ lead for this family left and right. You show me a good reason I should be kissin’ your ass and I’ll eat goddamn ice cream sundaes off of it from now ‘til Doomsday. Now I’ll listen to what you say since that’s the way the Don wants it, but I ain’t about to start bowin’ and scrapin’. Not ‘til you show me somethin’ more than a good taste in rides.”

Julian slams on the brakes, furiously fuming. he turns to Paulie as if to shoot him dead with his eyes.
“You busy dodgin’ lead when they clipped Capella?! I swear to god on my uncle’s grave, if you sat your ass around while some fucking coward took him out, you will find reason to be afraid of me. Not my pop, not your big sister. Me. The guy with one barrel down your throat, and the other up your tight, school-girl ass!”
Paulie turns back to him, matching gaze with one of his own.
“This ‘school-girl’ was one of about three guys who kept his fuckin’ head together when that shit went down, pal! I fuckin’ went back into that goddamn house for the Don when everybody thought it was gonna fuckin’ blow! It ain’t my fuckin’ fault the two bodyguards I left with him couldn’t guard a body if it was zipped up in a fuckin’ bag! As far as I knew at the time, I was puttin’ my life on the line for your uncle, which is damn sight more than some of those other pricks he hired can say – there were more people jumpin’ out of windows than when the stock market crashed.”
He calmly sits back. “So now that we’ve proved we can both raise our voices and do the macho bullshit, how ‘bout gettin’ this job done?”
He turns his eyes back ahead again. “And if you’re gonna stick anything up my ass, you damn well better be buying me dinner first.”

Roman extends his hand to Avery. “I’m honored to meet you, Mr Avery. A pity under these peculiar circumstances.” Roman gestures at a park bench, “Please join me…”
