Since we finally have a premiere date and a promo, I figured it would be as good a time as any to make a thread for the new season.
Looking forward to January 10th and 11th.
I am always glad to see more…Chuck on NBC! I am also glad that NBC decided to…UP…CHUCK’s episode number from their original order!
I"m excited.. but it will be long december.

Anyway, I’m really excited for this season. All the (stunt) guest casting notices have been great and I think the new intersect gimmick is going to provide the opportunity for a lot of action AND comedy.
Season 3 kicks off in a couple of days. Just figured I’d bump the thread and include Alan Sepinwall’s review of the first few episodes.
I can’t wait. I’ve been slowly going through the second season on DVD and forgot how terrible the Buy More stuff was early in the season. It’s a good thing that everything with Chuck, Sarah, and Casey was great.

That’s great news. Bakula is such an underrated actor and he fit well in the world of Chuck. I’m glad they will be bringing his character back this season.
I have heard good things about this show, but then Devin made a remark in his most recent OCD BLOG entry on the film AMERICAN CAROL, and it left me a little shaken

Can anyone explain what he meant? Is the star of the show a right winger or something?
Princess Kate, Chuck is…Great! Does it matter if an actor is a…Right Winger? It is not like you are dating him, you are just watching a tv series. I watch some of George Clooney’s films and I do not share his political views. Anyway, Chuck is better than most of the series currently on tv. It is the best…comedic spy series since…Get Smart. Action, Romance, Comedy…Chuck has it all.
Are the political views of an entertainer really that important. Robert Downey Jr. is apparently a hardcore Republican and gave donations to Bush and McCain doesn’t mean that I can’t appreciate him as an actor.

No, not really. But American Carol is sort of a special level of reptilian right wing, and the actors involved for the most part were involved because they wanted to advance a political message.
So, I could enjoy CHUCK if he is a right winger, I’d just like to know what the story is with this Levi character before I make that kind of commitment.
PS: Mr Fleed, many people I know in real life have said the same things about CHUCK, so you are not alone in your praise. I’m just wondering what it is about Levi that makes Devin say he’ll never watch it.

No, but he also didn’t star in American Carol…and frankly that really does bother me to hear he donated to McCain, the official campaign of racists everywhere. Danial Day Lewis says we should know as little as possible about actors, and I think he’s right about that. Once you know, it’s kind of hard to un-know.
I don’t really know Levi’s political views and I don’t really care. I don’t base my viewing habits on politics. All I know is that Chuck is an entertaining show and worth checking out.
James Woods is a conservative. Does that mean I shouldn’t enjoy Videodrome, Diggstown, or Casino because of his views?
In his defense, Levi is a young actor who probably wanted a paycheck and a job when he did American Carol. Adam Baldwin, on the other hand, is a batshit insane neo-con concerned about the subversive messages in Sesame Street.
And even though I’ve read interviews that suggest he leans to the right, Downey also seems to be more of a libertarian than anything.

I met Baldwin in 04 and we talked about voting for Kerry.. Are you sure you’re not confusing him with his 30 Rock character?
EDIT: That’s a good point, RB. He may well have just needed money. I just ask because of Devin’s remark, it implied he did something dastardly or his involvement was ideological
