Renegade slayer Faith (Eliza Dushku) returns to Sunnydale just in time to help Buffy and her gang fight a nefarious new foe.
The unusually violent episode opens as a girl flees a group of zombies and takes refuge with a cleric named Caleb (Nathan Fillion). However, it quickly becomes clear that Caleb is not on God’s side, but the First’s. He asks her to deliver a threatening message to the “original, accept-no-substitutes Slayer”…before stabbing the girl. As the Scoobies respond by preparing for battle, Buffy copes with the return of Faith, who, much to Buffy’s chagrin, bonds with Spike. Meanwhile, in a lighter vein, Xander fantasizes about wild times with potential slayers.
I know people like to give me shit for posting this so early but I thought Id give you time to talk about how you think this episode will be. Also im giving you a head up to watch on the 15, dont fuck up and think its just another rerun.
They posted the rest of the schedule on AICN. New episodes April 15, 29 and May 6, 13, 20. That means reruns next week and 22nd. This makes Angel’s 10 all-new episode run to the end of the season look very good.
I don’t want to talk too much about this episode because I’m spoiled to hell on Buffy. But I’m laying off until the end of the season/series so I don’t spoil the finale.
There are only 4 left because we are halfway thru the 10 episode run. Starting with the return of Faith there will be no reruns until the end of the season.
And damnit, I had to double check my facts so I went to epguides.com to check the air dates and got infected with spoilers. I thought they would just have the TV Guide synopsis for next week but they had a short summary for next week and what looks like a ton of bullet point spoilers for the remaining episodes. Now I just have to forget that they are there so I don’t go read them.
Wow. A very dark episode. I don’t want to get into spoilers so I’ll keep is short. Nathan Fillion was very good as Caleb. Dusku was ok, but I think she could have been used better. Andrew’s sequence was hilarious. I was kinda surprised how they had a “faith returns” vibe to the show at the beginning. I haven’t seen any promos for the show so it totally slipped my mind that they would play that up, since it had a “been there” feeling from watching Angel.
And damn, those ‘previously’ segments are getting too damn long. This one was over 1 and 1/2 minutes long.
prala: Wait til the end of the season. The previously will be 24 minutes long.
I heard that the “previously” to the finale of Season Five featured a clip from EVERY episode and was still amazing. It’ll be interesting to see what they do for the finale for this season.
