Breaking Bad was my favourite piece of filmed entertainment from 2008. Just found out that Season 2 starts tonight. Thought I’d start the thread so those who love it can gather together and discuss this most awesome of television shows.
This show is pure greatness. Bryan Cranston is probably the single best actor on TV right now.
It was never shown down here but a few peeps I know managed to get hold of it and give it a day in court. All and sundry thought it was the best TV show to come out of the States for years. It’s like a grungy alternative to Weeds or something. Was frustrated by the seemingly limited run of the first series so am quite ecstatic to learn we get a full 13 eps for this season.
Can’t wait.
Tivo’d the AMC marathon on Friday night. Just finished ep 4 of the first season. Cranston’s Emmy was richly deserved.
Am I the only one a little pissed that there is no AMC HD? I would love to be enjoying this in HD.

After devouring this show over the course of the weekend, I am now completely caught up. What an incredible show. You can make a strong case that AMC has the two best cable dramas on right now. Whoda thunk it?
Amazing episode, and yes, it does piss me off that I can’t watch it in HD. I have the same problem with FX shows.
I really need to know more people who watch this, because this show is fantastic.

Now The Wire and The Shield are over, this is officially the best show on TV.
It’s a fantastic show in every aspect, and I’m always surprised at how funny it is.

Cranston is insane in this. He’s just amazing. His 2 scenes calculating the money he needed and then how to kill Tucco and the amount of bullets, were incredible. He plays brilliant, brilliantly.

There is an AMC HD. I’ve never seen the show in anything but HD.
Tuco scares the crap out of me. I don’t think that was Tuco out in front of Walt’s house though. Pretty sure that was the guys from Juarez.
Holy fucking shit. This show is so fucking good.
The first episode probably should’ve been the season one finale, and today’s episode should’ve been the first episode of season two. Like Verbal Kint said, things escalate so quickly on this show, and that’s why I love it so much. The story really moves, unlike so much popular television. I’m the only person I know (in person) that doesn’t really like Lost and hates Heroes, and so much of it comes down to the over-arching plot unraveling so slowly.
What a great non-speaking turn from Mark Margolis. Him and his bell added so much tension to those scenes.
Beat me to the punch on Margolis, Molt. With that mug, he doesn’t need to talk to have great presence.
Have the people who run the show ever said if there’s a plan for how long they’d like the series to last? Obviously it’s possible to stretch out a year of Walt’s life for more than 2 or 3 seasons, but given that he’s been dying from day one it seems like it might rob his death of some of its imminence to give Breaking Bad a more standard run.
