BIOSHOCK Post-Release Discussion

Now that this is released, we might as well have a post-release discussion so we can discuss more spoiler-y aspects of the game.

And begin…

It’s all shiny.

I’m leaving to get it at Best Buy in 10 minutes… Oh ho ho ho ho ho.

I got the fucking red ring of death on my 360 a few days ago. God hates me.

Best Buy opens in 45 minutes! The anticipation is killing me!
Plus I just finished Resistance last night, so my slate is clear!

i made the horrible mistake of picking up DeadRising last night and that’s all I’ve played. Haven slept.

Now Bioshock? I better stock up on Lunchables and Cold Pizza. And lots of Halo 3 Mountain Dew. LOTS.

Because it’s Halo. And I’m a gamer.

Your mistake was just paying money to play Dead Rising.

Do video games really need a post release thread? Who cares about spoilers with these things?

Any game I can throw sugar packets at zombies has my money.

I also felt the need since half the other thread is about Fokker’s hatred of Jews. On that note, there’s a scene early on in the game involving corpses and ovens that just begs to be made into an image to taunt Fokker. Get on that, boys.

I just finished up the first section of the game, the Medical Pavilion. I took my time, so it lasted about 2 1/2 hours, and boy is this sucker detailed. It was a bit jarring how many less items there were available than in the demo and I can tell hacking is going to get old fast, but I’m having a blast so far.

Yes. Some of us prefer to remain unspoiled. What’s the big deal with that?

I just made it to Neptune’s Bounty. Pretty damn great so far. *spoiler* The first “boss” fight with the insane surgeon was very nice.

I’m being a big pussy so far and have saved two Little Sisters. I guess I’ll be an Adam farmer on my second play through.

Who the fuck thought it would be a good idea to make your hack the same button as the Eve reload? I’ve lost a good number of needles thanks to that. Should’ve been on the jump. Other than that, so far so good.

I’ve been going the Daddy Warbucks route, if only because you get almost the same amount of Adam along with some extra bonuses. And I want the “good” ending.

Just passed through the second section, Neptune’s Bounty, which introduces the first big plot thread in the game: Fontaine and the smugglers. I’m liking the fragmented story told through recordings, but I think I’m beginning to figure out the game’s plot, but maybe I’ll be surprised. The more I play it, this game is like Half-Life without as much scripting and infinitely superior combat.

Also: Without Vita Chambers, fighting the Big Daddies would be fucking impossible, so maybe it’s good that they’re in the game.

Anthony, I stopped about where you are, and I still haven’t died. Then again, I am playing on ‘easy’ and being extra cautious - I want to make it through and enjoy the story and exploration aspects the first time around.

No! Nooooooooooo!

I’ve been looking forward to playing this, along with everyone else. I get home from work with my copy, and I get the RED RINGS OF DEATH!!

I’ve had my 360 since July of '06 and never had a single problem. Why today? Why must fate be so cruel?

According to the rep I spoke to - repair time is 3 to 4 weeks!

(Bashes head on keyboard and cries)

I have no idea how the game is on easy, but it gets pretty maddening on medium. Again, without the vita chambers, this game would be throw-the-controller-against-the-wall frustrating.

Another problem: my TV is widescreen, so I’m missing every fucking security camera at the top of the screen so the security bots have been RAPING me.

I’ve only been playing a couple hours, but this just hasn’t been a problem for me. I’ve yet to inject EVE when I wanted to reload a weapon or hack a device.

Really really dig this so far.

Holy fucking shit the surgery ward is a fucking nightmare factory.

I’m planning on getting a 360 very soon, and when I do it’s gonna come with a big, fat in-store warranty.
