I was surprised not to see a thread about this show already.
I watched this last night as well and it was pretty cool! When I heard this was in development a while back I wasn’t exactly thrilled and hastily said I wasn’t going to watch it to my friends, I gave it a chance last night and boy was I glad I did. I am rather upset right now that there isn’t a new episode coming on next week (since it premiers next week). There was some great action in the first episode, interesting story line. I was a little disappointed in the ‘running’ but about 100 times better then the slow motion jogging from the original!
Battlestar Galactica fans should enjoy this show, it is very much in tone with BsG, the music they play during certain scenes seem like they come from some episodes of BsG as well as three actors who have been on BsG make appearances(makes sense since one of the guys who does BsG is on this show eh?)

If you watch the first episode, it gives a little more of a reason as to why she would be ‘freaked out’. I admit, it would have freaked me out also. Like I said in another thread, you can download the episode (legally) from amazon.com if you bought a dvd from them in the past, worth checking out this week while there isn’t much on.
As was discussed in the Fall Pilots thread, the first episode of this show was edited to ass. The pacing is horrible, the character development sucks, the show’s depressing, and it doesn’t make a lot of sense.
I’m a big BSG fan but to say fans of one will like the other is crap. This is nowhere near as good as the miniseries of BSG. The only reason it feels like BSG is because it ripped off actors, music, and fonts from that show (giving it a cheap and ripoff vibe). A show about a woman who gets super powers thanks to bionic replacements doesn’t need to feel as hopeless as a show about the extinction of the human race by robots they created.
I’ll watch this show because some people from BSG are involved in it but to say the pilot is good or even entertaining is just not true.
Yeah, it’s pretty not great. I’m somewhat interested enough to see if the second and maybe third episodes are better, but it’s mostly crap. I love BSG and this isn’t even in the same galaxy as that show. All your BSG cameos in the world can’t change that.
The other night, I watched this with the wife on demand . . . After 44 minutes of cliche-ridden torture, I turned to the wife, and with a confident smirk, said, “Ha, well, I guess we won’t be watching–”
That exact same scenario happens to me for most bullshit on tv. But every so often, my wife redeems herself. As soon as Katie Sackhoff delivered the line, “You’re going to have to do better than THAT”, she reached over and turned it off. It really was for the best.
I didnt see how it ended or what they’ve set up, and i hear that they changed it drastically since that leaked pilot and excised Anne Veal, so I’m maybe, sorta curious, but wont care at all if this doesn’t survive thirteen episodes.
Did anyone get the vibe that more than half the episode felt like the set-up for a Death Machine remake?
Seemingly innocent boyfriend ends up making his near dead girlfriend into his own little robotic project because he wants her back. We’re just missing that point into it where the bionics take over and she slaughters everyone before the mad scientist boyfriend figures out a way to shut them off. He does so and they have one last cheesy moment of making out before she dies.
The lead is completely dull, as is the rest of cast minus Ferrer. The writing is grade school level, the “FX” lacking. A total waste of time. Do anything else other than watch Bionic Woman. Read a book, take a walk, slit your wrists..all more fun than this show.
Just watched this off of Amazon UnBox last night. Piece of shit. I’m all for female empowerment and all, but not when it is rammed down your throat every few minutes. The little girl in the car was the most egregious offender.
I thought it wasn’t too bad. Nothing special so far but I’m looking forward to seeing where they are going with the deadly German and the evil doctor. To bad they didn’t show the super-max breakout. That could have been a great action scene. And who can forget two hot actresses fighting in the rain.
I liked the car crash. I liked the sniping scene. I liked the idea of a secret underground supermax prison.

Ditto on the hate for the little girl in the car. UGH.
Oh, and in the pre-release version of this, she had a BAD GIRL (you could tell because she smoked) deaf sister instead of a NOT-SO-BAD GIRL hacker sister.
