Oh they’ve done worse, like the one where the WASP guy needs operation on his groinal aread and they just fire off a bunch of jokes, I think one involved a pump.
ANYWHO, the second episode was really strong and it’s good that they mend their relationship near the end. Heather Grahams character is too spacey at times, like the wink thing and the whole accidently walking into a room and saying the problem and then leaving, it sorta gives the writers an easy way out, but her character isn’t that bad, not as bad as that shitbrick on the season 3 premiere who wouldn’t let them get an examination for no good reason then to yell “MY MACHINES”.
The whole Scrubs story is just getting so nutty though, they don’t even need J.D.'s thought flashes anymore, the original season was much more grounded in reality, a patient ready to die, not having one patient die in 24 hours, season 3 started to lose that, right up to the finale where J.D. and turk play tennisball golf in the paring lot and Turk is naked due to him getting married and J.D. betting them when they were younger who’d get married first, a patient crashes into a car and they don’t care at all abou the guy, I think a little bit of reality should be allowed back into the show.
I love Scrubs, season 1 to right now but it seems like season 3 new writers took over and made everything nuttier and zanier. Also NBC just likes fucking with this show by moving it around and putting it on at 9:30, it used to be 8:30, now an hour later, fuck that’s stupid.
Last night was good, chracter based, with nothing too zany. The divorcing at the end was gold, as was Dr. Cox’s re-realization as to how crappy it was to be married to Jordon. Especially liked the Janitor and his little buddy taking steps to make J.D.'s britches shorter.

what do you mean? isn’t it priceless when will’s annoying gay buddy enters the door, does a little dance and gives will a hard time for being total crap at picking guys up? every. single. episode? and don’t you find it zaaaany every time the gag about grace’s “assistant” (the one with the spiky voice) being a rich and lazy fucker is thrown at the audience? (about 5 times every episode) i mean, why do you think that show has won a whole sack of grammies, huh? huh? it’s because it’s hilaaarious, man. you just don’t know it yet.
Ya last night’s episode was very much a throwback to the earlier seasons of the show where it was totally character driven episode with no real “plot” and all the jokes came out of the character interaction. I really enjoyed it.
I loved when Turk was reading JD’s “looks” and when he imagined The Todd in surgery pulling out his own heart and then saying…“im gay”. That was priceless.
Also, you have to fucking love the reference to Eddie Murphy’s Raw and that fantastic leather suit he wore in that show. That wa s reference I was definitely not expecting to see in a show ever.
The best part of this show are the running gags. Each episode is Hilarious on its own, and you don’t have to know everything coming in, but fans are rewarded for knowing the characters’ relationships and quirks.

I also like that they’ve gotten comfortable enough with writing the characters that they don’t have to rely on Movie spoofs or other more obvious humor as much. This show is growing into its own nicely.
It’s too bad they didn’t have the oportunity to have John Ritter back as J.D.'s dad. He was supposed to guest star soon before he died, but I think they rewrote the episode to act as a return of "Ed"s Tom Cavenaugh as his brother instead. I always thought that was brilliant casting. I hope he shows up again.

He’s coming back in October I believe, I think he comes back every October, at least the first one he’s in it’s Halloween, second one don’t knwo for sure.

I really loved this episode from top to bottom. This and the episode before it were very reminiscent of earlier seasons. I loved the ethics committee, and JD’s trip to heaven where he forgets his wallet and then back on earth “suckas!” was classic.

I was thinking the same thing. I think he’s a riot, and that would be a nice way for NBC to atone for cancelling ‘Ed.’ He doesn’t have to show up every week- the show’s got a huge cast already- but it wouldn’t hurt for his character to a show up more often.
Anyway, great episode. Notice the music playing in Turk’s head was a sexified version of the “Sanford and Son” theme.
