Ah, the Emmys. They’re no “let’s give Best Director to a man accused of anally raping a 13 year old girl” Oscars, but they’ll do.
Anyone have any predictions? I think Six Feet Under is going to break West Wing’s best drama winning streak.
What’s great about the Best Actor (Drama) category is that I’d be happy with anyone in that category winning, although I’m partial to Sheen and Sutherland.
I’d really like Bryan Cranston to win for Malcolm, but I get the feeling it will either go to one of the Raymond guys or fucking Sean Hayes.
As for Supporting Actor in a Drama, I’d like to see Bradley Whitford or John Spencer win again, but I’d be happiest if Joey Pants won.

I don’t watch The West Wing, so I don’t know if it’s really that consistently great or not, but…it doesn’t deserve to win…AGAIN. SFU, 24, or The Sopranos, i’d be happy with. If TWW wins yet again i’ll be pissed.
We know 24 won’t win, The Sopranos has the best chance, but I think SFU will take it. It just has to. The first half of the season was weak but after that it was fucking incredible, all thanks to Krause. Did his best work this year, and not only does he deserve an Emmy, but the show does.
SFU takes it for sure.
Matt LeBlanc is being interview right now and I’m wondering, how much valium did he take before he arrived? He seems to have absolutely no enthusiasm whatsoever.

Verbal, I appreciate where you’re coming from, but don’t slag the West Wing if you don’t watch it. It IS consistently great. However, I give the edge to Six Feet Under, because A) it did reportedly have an amazing season (I’m very tempted to download all of Season 2 and 3 just to catch up) and B) the declining ratings of The West Wing along with the somewhat bungled departure of Rob Lowe will probably be strikes against West Wing.
As for Sopranos, the fourth season was alright and I did like the knock-out, drag-out fight between Carmilla and Tony, but I don’t think it was enough on the whole. I think Sopranos is going to give love to Edie Falco and maybe Joey Pants, but it won’t get the big prize this year. 24 won’t win, and while that kind of suck, I’m more upset that Haysbert and Berkley didn’t get nominations. Also, 24 sort of faltered near the end of the season. As for CSI, it’s only nominated because it gets the highest ratings. It’s not a truly phenomenal show.

Oh, and anyone who saw the last episode of this year’s West Wing, that was great TV. Great, great TV. Goodman rocks, and it’s enough to make me tape the season premiere.
That was great TV, Rath. The two-parts of Commencement and Twenty-Five, I don’t think television gets much better than that.
Having said that, I fear the worse for this upcoming season. Sorkin’s gone, Schalamme’s gone, and now they say that they want to try and give a better Republican point-of-view to try and win back viewers. That’s a bad fucking idea, seeing as the show’s been pretty fucking liberal for the past four years and going republican is probably only going to lose liberal viewers, not gain conservative ones.
I’m watching right now and Gary Shandling looks so uncomfortable on that stage. He keeps shifiting his weight between his feet.
