And the previews for this season? I cannot wait to see David Schwimmer playing an asshole.
Fey’s rant in the wedding dress was my favorite bit. Love the whole thing of course, but it wasn’t one of the show’s funniest. Still, so happy that it’s back.

It was a joke.
It would obviously cost more than $4 million to buy any subsidiary of the highly successful Sheinhardt Wig Corporation.
At least $6 million.
Goddamn, I’m 0 for 2 this week.

I figured they were just playing it safe and sweet in order to appeal to a larger audience for the premiere. I wasn’t a big fan of Seinfeld’s performance. It just didn’t mix well with the other actors. It was still worth it though just for Kenneth’s smile.
“Yeah, Chocolate Rain.”
“Kenneth Parcell, will you take this ring…and sell it in the Jewish part of Midtown, then go get us a Nintendo Wii?”
Very happy this show is back. Fey’s Seinfeld impression was pretty good.
My two favorite scenes were when Jerry and Liz were discussing her relationship status with Floyd. It brought a big smile to my “Seinfeld”-lovin’ self.

| “Survivor: China,” 8.5/14, put CBS on top at 8 p.m. “Ugly Betty,” 6.6/11, was second for ABC. FOX grabbed third overall with “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?,” although NBC did better in the 18-49 demo with “My Name Is Earl,” 5.1/9, and the “30 Rock” premiere, 4.8/7. The introduction of Supergirl on “Smallville” earned a 2.9/5 for The CW. |
Goddamnit!
You have GOT to be kidding me. Enjoy this season, everyone.
The loss to Jeff Foxworthy definitely hurts, but NBC can’t have seriously been expecting it to beat Survivor or Ugly Betty.
As long as it doesn’t lose too many viewers between Earl and The Office, it should be okay for a while. Mainly because NBC doesn’t have anything else to replace it with.
Actually, it sounds like it’s good news.

| Fans of NBC’s 30 Rock, take note: there is some positive news. The second season opener (featuring the over-rated Jerry Seinfeld) kicked-off with 7.38 million viewers (#4) and a record high 3.4/ 9 among adults 18-49 (#3) at 8:30 p.m. While 30 Rock is not, and will never be, a mass appeal hit, the retention out of lead-in My Name is Earl (Viewers: #3, 8.00 million; A18-49: #2, 3.4/10 at 8 p.m.) was 92 percent in viewers and 100 percent in the demo. This is good news, folks. |
Ignoring the Seinfeld slam, the rest sounds like a big improvement over last year. I’m betting NBC is pretty happy with how it did. And when Scrubs returns and starts sucking up the joint, 30 Rock will look even better.
Are they keeping it the order: Earl, 30 Rock, Office, Scrubs when the schedule is back to normal?

Scrubs is pretty irrelevant considering this is (supposedly) the final season. It won’t matter either way compared to them. Good riddance as far as I’m concerned with Scrubs!
I’m more pissed that Rock had less viewers than…you guessed it…Cavemen!?!?!
Parts of this episode had me laughing uncontrollably. Its good to have it back.

“Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes!”
“Now I have something old!” might be the cruelest line in television history. Just…holy shit.

Indeed. That and Tracy’s delivery of “Oh no! Did a Korean person die?” had me spitting beer on the table.
