Did anyone notice how he said he did not feel they deserved all the critisim they got last season, but later when asked about Jack being the boy’s father, he revealed there was a draft that had Philip Bauer being his father?
And that’s exactly my problem. I have such a soft spot for this show (even though I stopped watching about 10 episodes into last season) that I’ll come back if it even appears they’re doing something different even though they’re batshit crazy and have no idea what they are doing and what would actually be a good twist instead of just a random one.

The strangest part: they didn’t seem to be joking. -In regards to the idea of a 24 movie, the producers were rather candid. They will most likely do it after the final season, otherwise there would be a compromise and they would have to outsource either the show or the film, as they couldn’t handle both. As for the format, they said the first hour would be just like a regular movie, but that the real-time format would kick in about half-way through. -Despite his new commitment to Friday Night Lights, the 24 team said it’s likely that Glenn Morshower’s beloved Secret Service Agent Aaron Pierce may be back, continuing his track record of being the only character other than Jack to be in every season. -The producers desperately wanted to cast Donald Sutherland as Jack’s father last season, but couldn’t get the deal to work. |
I hope they do start the season with Bauer called to testify before a Senate committee, and that they can get Sen. Robert Byrd to guest star as himself.

I’d prefer Tony stay dead then come back as the main bad guy. That sounds like a lame season 6 twist. Gary Oldman could definitely work though. If he can’t commit to a whole season, then how about a cameo as Drexel ? He could be Jack’s latest torture victim.
It would be wild if they could score Oldman. Even if it’s just toward the end of the season like Hopper did it would be worth it.
I’m sorry, but Oldman is way above appearing on 24.
I don’t know about that. Have you ever seen SIN? Or that movie where Oldman played a midget?
Watching Oldman deliver the 24 writers’ idea of evil dialogue would make me howl with despair.

My only hope is that Garafalo will play a hard-core right-wing villian. That might make things interesting. For about 20 minutes.

On one hand, I’m happy…on the other hand, 24 REALLY sucked last year and this feels like grasping at straws…hopefully the overall story is good enough to take away from the usual CTU shenanigans…of course, I (we) say that every year…
It’ll be good for at least 4 episiodes. The FIRST 4 episodes. Remember when the DVD leaked and it looked like the show was going to go some interesting places? And then “Not after this” happened and we got the season of the suck. Season 5, for all its craziness, is climbing the charts as one of my favorite seasons of 24. Right behind S1 and S2.
